20% left? I'll take rest.

Can you send me your bank details by PM, and I'll send.

Btw, what do we think about the £20 flop bet? Fine size or just a bit too much?

It is a pretty annoying when your instincts are telling you one thing, but your hand and odds dictate another.

The only problem with going with your instincts here is that there is an assumption of what we think he thinks is a good hand. Of course he could have J2 and be thinking there's no way I'm losing here. Since you've mentioned that he appears to be pretty inexperienced, plays ATC, etc etc, I think a call is the way forward. But we're not going to be surprised if he does show 55, 88, J8, J5 or J3.

Raise pre.

Jam flop seems like only option here.

It's often done using keys loggers, programs that are installed on your machine and record your key strokes (and report them back). Usually install themselves at the same time as you install some dodgy software, or they're installed as part of a virus / Trojan infection.

There are also vulnerabilities in certain programs that can be exploited (such as programs that store or send passwords in plain text).

Ah ok, thanks Dan. Smiley

Hopefully it gets sorted all out for you Booder!

Are these hacks generally when people have sat there and tried to guess your password? Or is there other way they are doing it? Anybody know?

Not sure where about in London you're going to be living Scotty, but there's a chippy called Kennedy's on Goswell Road. It's a 5-10 minute walk from both Angel and Barbican stations. I'm not a huge fan of fish and chips, but whenever I've gone there with someone, they've absolutely loved it. There's also a lot of black cab taxi drivers that eat there, and I'm guessing they know the score. I think it's slightly more expensive than your average chippy, but probably worth it.

Enjoying the thread btw.

meh pretty sure everybody calls way tighter irl.

I think the same, which is why I didn't go by the Maths. I'm definitely not calling it off with Q5, T8, etc.
114  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: 0.5/1 cash game on: January 12, 2013, 05:13:39 PM
JT+, Q8+, K7 (maybe lower than 7), any A and any pair.

I'm personally not calling with T8. If he's ready to go home, he's probably shipping till he's getting called.

Think these edges only really work when you're playing enough similar situations for them to conform to their averages, which isn't really going to be the case. I think it's fine to pass a small 0.5% edge or whatever, and not calling off 3+ buy ins in a live game.

I had a spot on cash the other week, I bet the river £150 with a straight, guy thinks the dealer has said £250 and throws £250 in, ruled as a raise to £300. I call and win, you give the guy back his £150?

Though its a pointless question as nobody that would keep the £150 would say so amongst all the people that post that they would give it him back. That's why threads like these are pointless imo.

I think this is different.

As for OP, in a tournament, I don't think it's up to the player to decide what happens in this spot. Get a ruling.

In a cash game, I'm not convinced what I'd do. On on hand, I'm all up for generally doing the right thing. A guy made an honest mistake, and you have clearly seen the Ace, so giving a chop seems fair. On the other hand, you are playing a game where you win money by exploiting other people's mistakes. Granted this isn't a mistake you see often and you certainly don't play the game to expect to win money this way, but still it is a mistake. One of those my brain says take the money, but my heart says don't be a douche.

117  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: 400nl inducing then doubting on: January 03, 2013, 09:11:58 PM
Because nearly everyone Pleno has asked about the hand has said to him we should be folding. When we're folding a hand that we're not going to beat very often, then I think villain can definitely be making a case for turning an A into a bluff. I'm still not sure what I would like to do given a spot like this, but as mentioned, I'm still probably edging towards a call more.
118  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: 400nl inducing then doubting on: January 03, 2013, 08:26:15 PM
Well he could bluff other ax I guess

Well that's what I meant. Turning his Ax into a bluff/trying you to fold chops. These kind of situations are really read dependent, so it's tough to give a definite answer. The only thing we do know is that you've played your hand in a way to try and induce, and that's what has happened.

All in.

Regarding straddling, I think it's EV in a vacuum, but there are definitely spots to do it.

Readless, I'm not folding QQ.
