But.....Guilty of throwing frames for money and got off lightly.  Joe Jogia got 2 years for supposedly being involved in fixing a match that didn’t even take place in the end. He could have been Stephen Lee for the last 10 years if things had turned out differently.

Jamie Jones got a year for not fixing anything but for failing to report an approach.

I forgot about Leo Fernandez  who got 16 months for agreeing to make the first foul in one frame.

John got 6 months after being caught on camera admitting to and offering to throw frames in the future. John sells tickets, the other two don’t.

Prize money wise for the class of 1992 per wiki.  Ronnie £12m, Higgins £9m Williams £7m.   Hard to compare others with different time lines career wise.  Crazy to think Gareth Bale has been paid more this year on loan at spurs than these three all time legends have made combined in nearly 30 years!   Is that not just insanely sick?  Missed Selby out of the 'just below Higgins' list.   Don't think anyone else has done enough to get into that list yet.  Robertson has potential purely because of his century count if he wins a couple more triple crown events before retiring.   Don't think Ding will get there now.

That's an incredible stat.

Is that true?

Abs incredible to think a part time footballer could have been paid so much isn’t it.

Might be a tough sell this but John Higgins up there for me. Never seems to be in the discussion for greatest ever player alongside Hendry Davis Ronnie and imo he definitely should be

I've always thought Graeme Dott was hugely underrated despite winning one WC.

Hawkins was playing fantastic stuff a couple of years ago and has been a Crucible specialist for a good while.

Graeme Dott for me too. Superb match player in his prime in a really tough era and the thing is despite winning the WC he ran really bad in other years too. I’m pretty sure he either won, was runner up or was beaten by the eventual winner on 3 other occasions.

Hossein Vafaei  too, consistent top 40 in the world without being able to play in some events as he is refused visa’s by some countries because of his nationality. Still young too and made 3 ranking event semi finals in the last few years.

Jack Rodwell heart of a pea Angry

Is currently a Sheff Utd player and despite all our troubles he still cannot even get on the bench. In fact we played a game a few months ago when we were so short of players we only named about 5 subs on the bench and he still didn’t get picked. We literally went with nobody instead of him. Despite not playing last season he somehow got another contract this season too.

Whilst Tom Ince wasn't a great signing it wouldn't even get a mention in the list of horror signings we (Huddersfield) made during our two year Prem appearance. You won't have even heard of most of the garbage we spaffed our money on, and the goal Ince scored against Watford in the Prem first season is probably the most I've celebrated a goal in my 43 years as a fan. So all in all he's ok, not least cos we recouped our money from Stoke anyway.
Alex Pritchard was a way worse signing for example.

Do you remember the time we played 5 a side up in Beeston circa 2002/3 Steve and Lee Sharpe was one of the guys waiting to come onto our pitch next?

A few of us stayed to watch, was an abs treat to see that kind of quality close up.

Looks like you need a new Manager Tom. Who do you fancy for the job?

Klopp? Pep? Hodgson? Big Sam?

The new owner has International football people working with him Tony so I fancy it might be a decent European guy next. European mangers are more comfortable working in the football GM deals with recruitment and manger managers  the team set up he wants too. I just hope it’s not a retread of some multiple failure guys like a Mark Hughes type.

Fair comment that Mr Q.

Cheers Tom, I’m still trying explain to my 11 year old daughter why Ollie McBurnie is about 6 foot 4 stood tall and about 6 foot 2 when he jumps to head the ball. 18 mill there, 23 for Brewster. 10 for Mousset who I’m told has IBS and don’t think has ever played a full 90 minutes in the two seasons he’s been with us. Ollie Burke is a sprinter in football boots we swapped Callum Robinson for who we paid 8 million for. Tho I think we got 2 million back.

When you’ve spent that much money and the 2 best strikers we have are the two that got us out of the Championship 2 years ago, Mcgoldrick and Sharp then you’ve done something very wrong with 60 million quid haven’t you.

The weird thing for me is next season we will be looking for a manger apt at getting teams promoted on smaller budgets and with proven man management/motivational skills. On paper Wilder would be one of the favs for the job he’s just lost.

But, he’s committed the big error that promoted teams make in that he spent the new money the club got like a guy that’s been let loose with a credit card in someone else’s name.If you were the owner and saw your team had 60 million quid worth of new strikers on the bench yesterday and couldn’t score in a brothel I think you have every right to question the manager that’s made those signings and why you’d want to move to a more football operations guy to deal with transfers than the manager having that responsibility. The head of recruitment is a big mate if Wilders too, he should be next to go.

This isn’t aftertiming cos I raged about this on SM at the time, we sold Dominic Calvert L to Everton for 1.5 m a few years ago with no add ons for Prem appearances, Prem goals, International Apps or goals either. At 19 he was one of the best players in his age group in the country. A player he was keeping out of the England  U19 team at the time Lookman was bought by Everton for 11 million soon after.

Sold Ramsdale for 1.5 million and paid 18 to take him back. We had a % of future transfer fee added into that to take 3 mill off it. Imagine how good 20% would look from the next DCL deal too.

I’m sorry to see him go because I think he’s the best man to bring us back again up  but any rookie chairman has every right to wonder how we can’t score goals when his manager has had his pants taken down in the transfer market because the buying was more along the lines of ‘need more bodies’ not ‘need more quality’  and the selling was appalling.

One other thing that strikes me Steve is they have also just put themselves in the perfect spot with all the future Ammo plus Goff to take a shot at Deshaun Watson now :-). Imagine if he pulled that off?

That Sleeper site looks really good.  I can see there is a recent transactions tab on it. Once the league is set up does it automatically just stay active the whole year round?

Are you using phone or PC? On PC there is the main dialog box in the middle which has all the trades but I can't see an actual trade list. The mobile app is meant to have more feature but I haven't use it, so maybe it is on there? Overall I like it quite a lot.

I love it. The inplay stuff is class. very good piece of Software.

I did a 32 team league last season to try it out. The software is great. As for the 32 teams. Don't do it!

Eeek, what kind of starting line ups were being put out in that league?

It was rough man. I still have nightmares of the players I had to start during bye weeks. Leshaun McCoy got a few starts for me. When my QB Newton was out for a few weeks then it was desperate times.

That's sounds about as hard core as it gets.

A really weird deal. I can't help thinking that Detroit didn't do too badly out of it.

I'm a Detroit fan and I'm pleasantly surprised, albeit the Goff salary. Don't think it's impossible he plays pretty well anyway Goff.

The new GM did some great work there didn't he, coming from The Rams he must have known exactly where they stood in terms of what they were prepared to give up to move Goff on. Perfect deal for a rebuilding team isn't it? Goff will either play well enough to keep the job as they build around him and if he doesn't they can get rid of him in 2 years with no dead cap. And all successful rebuilds build the team first and then add the QB they want late on. Gives Detroit two options now for their long term QB and as Bergeroo says it's not like Goff is devoid of ability is he?

I have only used it on the phone so far but will use the PC version for drafting etc. It was interesting to see John Wolford was the most added/traded player last week and both Stafford and Goff are high up the list today. Ideally being able to play the league all year round would make spots like last nights real life trade generate transactions in the new league too.
