If he was knocked out in sparring would it have a big effect on his performance on the night? How long do you need post KO to feel fresh? I didn't realise it is such a big thing. I thought you could shake it off in a week generally and be close to fully fit and be raring to go. There a protocol to follow? You need x amount of time post KO before fighting again?

https://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/cardiff-v-crystal-palace/half-time-full-time

I quite like the draw/Palace and Cardiff/Palace ht/ft markets at 5/1+ and 33/1+ a piece. Suggest £20 at 5/1+ and £7.50 at 28/1+ (exchange seems best here) on those markets if you can.

Cardiff have to win to have any chance of survival. Having to be aggressive forfeiting, potentially, defensive rigidity in the process to pursue that end falls into the hands of Palace who have a great record away from home and prosper when there are more gaps in behind. I can expect Cardiff to be quite cautious in the first half like they were away to Fulham, to keep themselves in the game, and then early second half play with more abandon. Which aligns with a 0-0 and ht and then Palace potentially picking them apart as they open up. This seems a better angle that the 2.7 on the outright win for Palace, but if you wanted to go for this i think betting at 2.45 is value.

Another possibility is Cardiff to take an early lead, presumably from a Morrison header, as we are desperate in the chances conceded from set pieces from all the games i have watched. We have been very lucky not to have conceded more and Guaita has been guilty of being a bit flappy when coming for crosses. Or we could concede early just because they have something to play for and Palace don't. But then perhaps Palace could rely on Cardiff sitting back too much trying to protect that lead which is where the cardiff/palace angle may come into play.

Benteke is out, which i like as Hodgson played him to try and get some momentum going into next season as Batshuyai won't be here, but this now means we have more firepower. Townsend hasn't been starting since his wrist injury which i find a worry, as when we play without two wing threats we seem more tame on the counter, but perhaps he starts today.

There is a reason both bet suggestions are at long odds, but i think there is value there considering the unique situation, and reminds me a little of when Palace prospered away to Stoke last season. Also I need to note that my radar on value with palace has been subject to bigger variance and has been off at times because it has been a lot harder to gauge us, as we don't generally build consistent momentum, we frustratingly stop and start with results, and it all seems a bit random. I could also just be a bit shit at tipping, and my previous tips over the years were just benefitting from a small sample size, which probably makes more sense  Grin

It is a bit late as practice has just started but I do fancy Carlos Sainz at a very big price for this week's Azerbajan Grand Prix.

The last couple of Grand Priix there have had a high attrition rate, and McLaren showed a bit of pace in Bahrain and Australia; and Carlos Sainz has run here well here before (as did the Renaults).

Obviously needs a lot of carnage in amongst the big boys, but he is 1500/1 and bookies are offering a fifth first 3 again.  You get 300/1 the podium, which is where the value is.  He clearly isn't finishing here every week, but 1 time in 300 is probably too big.  You could probably apply this logic to a few others outside the first 4 in the betting, as place terms are going to be very good on races that can have a lot of retirements like this.

You'll likely have to wait until the end of practice to get a price again, and 1500/1 may not be available, though it was available in a few spots this morning.   If the car runs like a bag of spanners in first practice then you need to reconsider!

The price is back up as practice is abandoned.   When I said attritional I didn't expect that.

You could extend the logic to Hulkenberg and Ricciardo who are both 750/1, or 150/1 first 3.

7th in 2nd practice so now into 1000/1.  Hills still 1500/1.   Go on Teeks, empty the account.

good work by Lando Norris too.

In Doobs we trust, though "emptying the account" was more than I could muster the courage to do.

Admitting it for Hennessey could have put his career in jeoperdy so I can see why he goes for the desperate cover up. Currently he trots away pretty unaffected.

The FA, who conveniently didn't want to kick up a storm, are questionable.

People on the Palace top 10 with me, we have a very slim chance of doing it. The squad got further decimated with both starting cb's out, and Townsend not fit enough to start. Great result yesterday but teams won't be so open at the back in our remaining games. Also other results haven't really gone our way with Everton beating United yesterday. Need to win all three to have a shot, but even then, could struggle.

Zaha should be gone in the summer and has to, to show what he is really about as he is way too stifled here. I think he could really flourish in a possession dominant team. He would need to start regularly to get the best out of him so he needs to team select properly.

I mourned when my favourite Palace player in Bolasie left us and if the other winger wonder goes a lot of our identity as a side goes with it. We may never see that sort of electricity again here for a while. We were spoilt as fans to have them both here at the same time and are now with Zaha here alone. Gutting this could be his last three games. I hope he puts on a show.

Who knows how footballers think? Look at Hennessey!

What a sorry incident that was. Comical. I think the argument that he does the outstretched arm, and covers his mouth to project a shout to get a waiters attention could just about be feasible as an argument contextually, however unlikely that is considering he is looking directly at the camera for the pic but to then go overboard saying he doesn't know what a nazi is reeks of overcompensation imo. I don't know what to think. If he is genuinely that ignorant, it's amazing.

Can we assume that if Sterling wins the main Silva is much more likely to win the young player? As voters may look to spread the love. I know young players have won the main without winning the YPY award as well oddly.

I say this as I wonder if its worth laying my good position on VVD as I also have a position on Silva for YPY and I could fill my boots twice. As its near impossible Sterling isn't winning one.

6-5 to finish above Cherries looks decent.

Another two goals for Mmmbappy takes him to 23 in the league I think. Ronaldo on 19? Still got a sniff there at 80-1.

Not a bad bet at all against the cherries. I like the match up against Everton as well at 15/8.

yup maybe this quote from Dyche is telling, "Most people are probably confused, Palace are a good side and most people are probably scratching their heads when they see them down there [in the table]."

West Ham winning tonight doesn't help and Watford drawing or taking three points from Everton tomorrow is probably best for the bet.

Having a double full back threat with wan bissaka returning and PVA on the other side is probably more important than Sakho being out for the season imo. Batshuyai i think is the difference in us now going on to hopefully show top 7 form until the end of the season. It is a shame a permanent transfer of him is less likely because of the Chelsea transfer embargo. Benteke and his £100k a week is off of our books by 2020. Townsend seemed to be limping at the end of the game, which would be terrible, but hoping for the best.

Thinking about it now, I think 5 players are integral for us, with any one of them being absent a bigger blow than any of the other 6 players. And that is the wide players and the striker. So PVA, Wan Bissaka, Zaha, Townsend, Batshuyai. If they all stay fit i think we run the top 10 close. There is decent cover for every other position. PVA might surprise a few people as a shout by me, but you only have to look at Schlupp replacing him at the end of the Man U game for the Young goal to see we are short in that position too.

I would bet 7/2+ for value on Palace top 10. Suggest £30. You have a Red Zone account?

Palace had Batshuyai starting against Leicester which i hoped would make a huge difference and it did. After a battling first half of few chances and incredible luck to go 1-0 up, the side impressed in the second half after being pegged back and i see the squad settling into a good place. Bats in instead of Benteke/Ayew is huge as he is much better with his feet than those, and has more of a potency in front of goal, albeit perhaps not emphatic, but with the previous two they have been pretty poor. I think for the confidence for the rest of the side, to have a player of his quality heading the line, aligns the whole team.

Even with Benteke scoring 15 goals in a season 2 seasons ago, i always wasn't an amazing fan of his as his ability with the ball at his feet has always been terrible from an attacking standpoint, which break down play and frustrate the side. Since then arguably i would argue we haven't had a decent performing striker, and now with it, and the support of an otherwise solid team, i think the back end of this season could be fruitful.

Our strongest starting 11 i think arguably is the 7th best in the league on paper. We normally close out seasons well. We have Wan Bissaka and Zaha potentially playing out of their skin vying for a move away. Our form has been good. The form of the three teams above in Leicester, Everton and Bournemouth have been questionable, Burnley have been impressive though. We have Everton and Bournemouth at home in the run in as well.

Sakho is out for the Man U game which is a blow, but we should still do well enough to put in a good showing with Kelly replacing. He is though probably the most key player in the team if he isn't present, as he sets a tremendous tone out from the back with his calm demeanour and attacking passing. Annoyingly with most of this written down Sakho's injury could be a lot longer than the Man U game as he has been seen on crutches in public recently. Tomkins is good at setting the tone as well with his breadth of passing even if Sakho is sidelined, just because of the value present it is still worth a shot if you can get 7/2+. It would be 3/1+ if Sakho wasn't injured imo. A lot of talk from Hodgson saying it is a minor issue, so let's hope him on crutches is more overkill and the value is higher.

I think all considered it is a value price for sure at 7/2+, as i think Palace will close this season out well, and with Batshuyai I could see us doing so with more aplomb. I am definitely not as honed in on the value with Palace under Hodgson's reign rather than other Palace managers with a style of football i find hard to predict the value in against other teams, but i think i have been given enough scope here to confidently put this up.

Ant, there is rumours that Sakho could be out for the season, if so just can’t see this bet coming in

Palace 2-0 up at Burnley as i write this, so unfair of me to say, but i think against man u having Kelly AND Ward on the same side of the pitch in the backline was a travesty and they scored they first goal from neither pressing the runner. Dann and Wan Bissaka in to replace for Burnley and there is a world of difference. Also it was very apparent just how much a miss Wan Bissaka was with his marauding runs and definitely think the bet is live without Sakho, but ofc he's a miss.
