Also, Tikay and other longstanding members have highlighted the fact many times that they don't like the aggressive nature of the forum, so I can't imagine it becoming like 2+2 which makes this place look a playground.

Couldn't agree more. I like most new people on here joined as a direct result of the £300 updates but have found the forum to be extremely unwelcoming to new members. That surprised me as "Colchester Kev" who I met 1st of all is such a nice guy. In my experience posts from new members just get a flaming.

So much so that this is probably only about the 3rd/4th post I've ever made in a thread that is not a live update. (I only found this thread as I came through from M McCools blog)

I post on several other forums, all of which are far more friendly and helpful than this one.

There was talk of a deal, but Manoj is keen to play on.  So it's as we were.

Good for him. I hope he wins it now.

Updates excellent, the video clips added an extra dimension and are definitely a step in the right direction.

Good job guys.

Congrats to Hassan Irfan, a very worthy winner. I wasn't there this w/e but chatted to him a few times in March when he was runner up to Colin Young. He seemed a genuinely nice guy.

Great updates as always Kev.

hi
firstly i realy enjoyed playing deepstack as there was lots of flops even on final table that was brill thanks to dtd  and simon for that and really big well done to wadey to win it for me no disrespect to other players but  there was only 2 likely winners on final table as it happened he had way more chips than me to  start but well done and about the deal i was happy to take the nearly second price and about the second deal i was surprised beca on the first deal there was no more deal that was agreed thats why i played to win and attachted the chip leader knowing that  there was only 1 price so 2nd deal shouldnt happened oyher wise i wouldnt perhaps agreed the first 1
after all thanks to dtd and blondepoker for wonderfull weekend happy xmas all

Well played Yucel. You have always been one of my favourite players to watch/play against and I was really hoping you'd win it all (once the guy I had staked was KO'd). You are hugely entertaining and to be honest if everyone was wrapped up in a sleeping bag (hoodie) with shades and ipods never uttering a word the game would be so boring.

Regarding the (2nd) deal I don't have a problem with that. If I'm happy to take the deal then whatever happens after I've been KO'd wouldn't bother me. The thing that surprised me most was the guy with lowest chips taking such a low offer in the 1st deal. I'd never have taken that extra £7k when I was potentially giving up an extra £70k.

I play a lot at the Broadway as you know and frequently there deals are done and then further deals afterwards. It can't really be stopped IMO as they could always have a private chat and agree a secret 2nd deal anyway.

Congrats on the cash once again.

PS TightEnd: Great job BTW.

4th place took a weird deal imo!

Makes no sense at all unless he goes on top ship the 18k more

+1

He might as well have turned the deal down and shipped all in blind every hand.

LittlePokerShow. com which is covering the Monte Carlo event has 2 really good interviews from DTD today, one with Rob Yong and the other with Simon.

The estimable Rob Yong has arrived, off his sick bed and into the auditorium

He asks Mad Turk "Yucel, how many times have you outdrawn players to get that stack?"

Turk replies?

a) "Forty-Seven"

b) "Me, Outdraw?"

c) "None"

d) "Only once, but as he was dissing my pink shirt he deserved it"

blinds up 8000-16000/2000

Average is 642,000

Just how good is this structure? Even if you have half the chip average you have 20xBB.

Hats off to DTD.

Enormous pot first hand of the day

the board reads  ,  am afraid I only arrived after the pre-flop action and Paul Ratchford has bet from the small blind, Ben Vinson raises to 55,000 from an early position

Ratchford ponders and makes an enormous check-raise over bet to 500,000

Vinson Calls!

Vinson shows

Ratchford

turn 10

River 4

Ratchford wins the pot, Vinson out 19th

Top tipstering Tighty  Roll Eyes

ROFL

ps. please don't tip Dean Pearson I have 4.29% of his action through stakeashark.
