Maybe the guy blowing all this money on a moron has a much better idea than you on whether the deal is profitable. Go teach someone else how to do their job.

I dont see how OP is too far away from the trend. Id hazard a guess that more people are in a situation that OP suggests than both parties getting the lot through staking arrangements.

Funny being in Vegas, people only playing for 25% of themselves and stuff, nobody seems to grind through the levels and get a BR anymore. Higher buying games are over-run with mediocre regs who might win pre rakeback but ramp up the variance and squeeze the economy for every penny and hurt everyone else's bottomline.
Spot on an a fantastic post.

Daniel Negreanu

The buzz around Negreanu yesterday was just incredible. I was on the table next to him and he had a rail 30/40 deep ALL day. A constant stream of people watching him, asking for autographs, photos etc. Men, women, young, old - they absolutely love him here.

Never knew that a poker player could have so many fans. He's a pretty great ambassador for the game, perhaps the best. Never realised what a positive impact he must have on the industry but you can see why he's stars #1 pro.
played wt him couple of times an spent 3 hours during my demise during the $5k 6 max PLO an he has a warm welcoming presence about him.

Yo

Thanks Tommy. Interesting thread, here is the cold hard facts;

Of course we would love travelling players to wear DTD patches they cost £1.25 each, no fkn brainer! We already have a promotion in place for the Scalie Tour, I think we had 25 players in patches at the last GPS. In 6 years only a very very very few DTD players have offered to wear DTD merchandise/or do something for DTD for nothing in return, I can only name a few off the top of my head, the likes of Rastafish, Lil Dave, Ian Gascoigne, Martin Frey, Wadey, Chinese Frankie, Bookie Jim (sorry if I missed you, sure there is a couple more)

However, I have loads and loads and loads of requests from players that go like this "I am going to x, If I wear a DTD patch/merchandise will you a) pay my buy-in b) pay my hotel and travel c) stick me in events at DTD d) give me x). That's just the truth guys, however I do know and have many personal friends in poker that would do this for me, I asked players to wear patches at EPT's when we were promoting the CPP, Roberto, Sam, JP, Ben, Sly, all the guys did this, I find the top pros are pretty cool about it unless they are sponsored.

As a rule of thumb, the more "reggy/grinderish" players - the less the player will do favours for "nowt", I understand this thou - because these players are working hard to make a living from the game - so why do "owt for nowt". There are exceptions of course, but I would say 90% of reg's/grinders would not wear a DTD patch for free and - why should they? I am happy with the Scalie Tour promo, players wear our patch and get rewarded if they make the final or win it, seems a fair deal, win win for us both and targeted at recreational players.

Cheers Rob

Sorry guys but we can't do it this year, lots of problems relating to last year and other issues. Was really hoping would be up and running again in time for this years WSOP but its just not going to be possible.

Word of warning though if you do wire money to the Rio, you have to do it from your own personal account or you will not be given the money, they will also take over a week to send it back to the UK. Also on that note if sending money to the Rio be advised that you must take it all when you go to collect, you cannot leave it on deposit at the poker cage. Boxes are available but be quick.
is  there a charge for wiring an what rate to they give you if you wire to across to Bellagio ?

Much much better off wiring your money to the Bellagio or the Wynn.

100 times more efficient to the Rio.

Very sound advice

Are there any issues in wiring the money from say your HSBC account and sending the remaining cash back to a different account?

I don't think one performance, however good or bad it is, really proves all that much. I still think De Gea is a good keeper with a lot of promise and I still think Hart is a good keeper who's very overrated. Shay Given was as good a shot stopper as you'll ever see, he was never a World Class keeper though.
both good goal keepers ! Hart at the moment still better but not by much but time can change things as de gea still a spring chicken ! Think Hart is rated exactly where he is as the  best English goalkeeper England have ! As to say he is overrated is a bit baffling as Mancini nor Hart himself have ever expressed being the best goalkeeper in the world?

If anything Mancini as been highly critical of him in the past an yet to hear rumours of any of the big clubs abroad ever showing any interest in buying him !

I was more referring to fans and pundits, a lot of who say he's World Class when he's just not, I've said this for a long time and not just due to recent poor form. He's regularly talked about in the same group as the very best by the media and pundits which is pretty ridic.
Goin make myself look silly here ! But I believe Hart is the nearest thing we have had to the great Peter Schmeichel in this country since he retired. Dont forget Peter Didnt get to Man utd till he was 28 an Joe is only 25 or 26 an playing at a higher level  than Peter for his age.
I am an admirer of Joe hart an isn't this sport great as everyone opinion is different so maybe let's give these young goalkeepers another 5 years then judge on what they have achieved!

As good a result as the majority of supporters could have hoped for.  I still think that Madrid must be slight favs but we forget they are only 3rd in their league so are not to be feared. Really excited about the home leg

Thought Ronaldo showed some class with the lack of celebration from as good a headed goal as you will see.

2-2 would have been better, or 3-3 and it could easily have been either of those.

De Gea did all that was asked of him, the instinctive save with his foot at the near post was reminiscent of Scmeichel.

The Ronaldo goal brought back memories... He used to play for us you know. We were privileged to have had him and I expect him to get a warm reception at OT before and after the second leg.
Unless he scores the winner ! Highly unlikely though ! Think his respect for United will be his downfall in the return leg.
