I think it's more about educating people about gambling earlier in life that is key. We all understand -EV situations because we either play poker for a living or it's our favourite pastime. So we come across lots of poor betting decisions every day and decline to take them many many times during a game of poker.

Some people just don't get it. I have told a mate last week who I felt could have problem playing FOBTs "35/1 about a 36/1 shot every 20 seconds does not sound great over an hour, does it"?

He just went on about zero coming in a lot in some shop along the road. They should have classes at school to explain margins and house edge so people understand it's a punt, not a means of income. He actually thinks he can beat the game and does not get the concept I am trying to get across?  Is that delusion or is this a hard aspect to grasp? Another mate punts like fuck on anything he thinks he is at least 50/50 on (buckaroo game in pub or random seat last longers in tourneys) but he would never play any house game or FOBT. So it's not the gambler aspect of the problem gambler it's the fact they think they can beat the game. Is this all rubbish?

There are so many discrepancies it's unbelievable. I'm a pretty level headed person and always ignore peoples responses when it comes to things like this but if he is innocent then I'll be damned. Going with the majority on this one.

At least if he gets away with a manslaughter charge he has up to 15 years to ponder on his mistakes. At some point he will confess anyway. Only problem with some compulsive liars that I know, they tell themselves the lie so well that they believe it themselves, no longer feeling guilty.
This is correct. I can't see him ever making a UK courtroom due to his mental state.

Hey Dan. My two best poker buddies just bought corp membership at Players. We are loving it. When you get back to Bristol you gotta come and play.

Villain is 29/29 3B 33% and just all round quite aggressive. OPR says he is a winning reg.

After he checks this river should we be turning our hand into a bluff, will villain fold his exact hand TT, KK?
Is calling flop bet here standard? It seems that this flop decision means you can rep Qx now on the river. The greatest things about winning regs is they love showdown value. When someone is 29/29 what does that mean?

I really love PHA but it's tricky for us guys who don't use HUD and play more live than online to understand. 3 bet 33%? Of what?

I would think a lot of players would call it off if you bet the river here as Ax is hard to put you on. No more beer for a week.

If he breaks down and fesses up he will be more famous than Michael Jackson, which could be this guys goal in life.

Is he even sane? The whole thing is a farce. I know SA has a young legal system so this is hugely important that they get this right. Does anyone think that this lawyer can get it out of him?

Or not a chance?

This is better than OJ .

Now I think about it. That lawyer just let him spew details out all day yesterday and is now tying him in knots. This could be like an episode of Crown Court from daytime telly years ago. He will end up confessing. He is gonna do the ultimate Narcissus, and break down and admit it.

I been with my Mrs 24 years and she ain't never locked the Bathroom door. In fact I wish she had locked it many times, and then again other times it was alright! Boom Boom.

How is he gonna explain to them about the locked door? I think this whole relationship may have been a con. Like a PR stunt?

Mi Lady. Mi Lady. I can't believe I watched it tonight. I feel bad watching it. It's OJ again. Just utterly fascinating how these guys minds work. How long does anyone think this trial will last? Any ideas?

from 7pm

the masters committee severely restrict coverage. very outdated view in this age

Those restrictions have been eased, Sky Sports already have Masters Coverage via the Red Button, Rich.

Currently, they have.....

Amen Corner

Holes 15 & 16

Featured Group # 1

Featured Group # 2

Except, of course, for gouty & his ginger ring.
You are a gentleman Sir

And to be honest your boss is doing the right thing business wise too. My gripe is more with the Masters and the BBC. Both these companies base their entire business model around the fact that they are the BEST. Market leaders in tradition, respect and having so much money thrown at them since their existence.

BBC coverage made the Masters THE major. Masters just shits on BBC for $.

To me that is just awful. Globalisation at its worst. But onwards we go again. I felt the same when the home Ashes series went from BBC. A lot of you younger ones won't remember going on the piss in town on a summer Saturday when every pub had it on. I mean EVERY pub mind. The problem was they all had only 1 telly. Haha. Like 50 of you around 1 box. It was great. All the good landlords would buy you a pint just at lunch interval and you were then in for the whole day.

Anyway what were we on about?

Not even Amen corner on the red button BBC?

Rupert Murdoch can kiss my ginger ring! Hence I am a bit short of viewing options of one of my favourite sporting weeks.

Gonna pop to the pub for couple of hours, if anyone could pm me a link or something I would be grateful. I fancy a nice soak in the bath later and watch a bit in there.

I spent the whole of yesterday in bed with a touch of the old gout waiting for the pills to kick in, and watched the whole days court session (and PMQs which was fkn mint).

Seemed pretty amazing what he was able to get away with. He was like a politician really, just saying what he wanted to, not actually answering any questions. He made a few clangers himself though. He should of said he may have put one foot on the balcony (when getting the fan) which would of saved 2 hours of testing his bail statement.

And when he stated in court about "re-working" his movements on the night I cringed. I get the feeling even his own team think he is wasting everyone's time.  The prosecution barrister is just a legend. "Why do you only get emotional when you get a question you cannot answer"?

Can't see me watching any more of it though, My Lady.

7/8 diamonds somewhere here maybe? I would shrug call that.

Checking flop is less for balance as our check-continuing range is essentially the same hand but without a 5 - i.e. AA+nfd or 789+fd or thereabouts - and more about inducing semibluffs from hands that might otherwise fold to a c-bet, and pot-control when we're behind which we are more often on a paired board where the cards are next to each other.
With this thinking do we put him on 5 6 then? I suppose if we were heads up we could but 3 handed it kinda means the other guy has called off 2k with a straight on a paired board. Stinker of a spot. If his watch is really nice we could call. Where's Lil D?

I originally thought fold but is it only 200 for us to call?

If so call then check fold. Or sometimes call then pretend you are Phil Ivey when the 4 hits. Is your opponent any good? If you rate him a bit then shove.

Can he ever have AK here though looking at pre flop action?

I have played this game in plenty of countries and you know what to expect from each one. The most fun was always Ireland, although sometimes the cash rulings were based on whether it would avoid a punch up, nobody cared. We all wanted the game to carry on.

2005 Gambling act just handcuffed operators and overnight it also raked half of the grey economy in cities back into the treasury coffers. It's genius. The casino you mention takes every GC regulation to the limit. Chip trays on table avoid money laundering and going south, no multi rebuys, etc...

Cider post. I had a good point about that whole building being a government MI5 office until they banned all the fun characters. It is simply the safest place to play poker on the planet. Which is obviously not as quick but can be fkn hilarious.

This is a tough decision. Really need pics of sunglasses to comprehend your opponents image of you, this could be somewhere between Huggy Bear and Stevie Wonder.

By the sound of your previous hands you are hugely under repped and should get the lot in now.

Fkn mint pha. I am gonna grab my Cincinatti Kid cd right now. Whooooooop!

Call seems good.

Anything else seems pretty grim.
