If you could pop up the other 5799 hands you have played with this fella it would be easier. What is his opinion of your image?

You have called with a hand which can be multi dominated for a reason. All seems fine. It feels like he has given up tho.

Haha. Just read Stars poker blog and thought I recognise that name on the ft screenshot!

Well done. Did your heart race a little? Or did you play any hands differently due to 1st prize being a bit lumpy?

Fantastic result..

Sober Gouty.

Live games.

1/1 or 1/2  NLHE

1/1 or 1/2  ROE

1/1 or 1/2 PLO

Can we have a wee thread for live games?  Opinions on lines and sizing sort of stuff for some forum users that play mostly live.

Specifically filtering out online grinders views that are sometimes counterintuitive  in live hands or live play.

I am not talking about 1k sit down ego wars that straddle to £32 but more about real low buy in games with a myriad of stack sizes.

C'mon live players. Let's see some tricky hands.

Another tip is 7 or 15 buck heads up PLO turbo or hyper turbos late at night 1 tabling, and like Lil D said, really concentrate on stack to pot ratio and pot control. Real good for morale!

Your opponents are split 50/50 regs/punters. Always select re match accept.... The punters always accept but I love it when I have a funky match with a good reg and win or lose they ALWAYS decline. If they start accepting then it's time to go to bed.

PLO is a fantastic strategy game. Its not really suited to recs online but is great for rb pros which makes the online game so difficult as it is pro infested. So you think about that, then work out how regs/pros think and be aware of your own stats. If you play heads up at low stakes you can learn to spot regs from piss artists after a dozen games.

Play ABC versus the recs and mess with the regs/pros by doing weird lines and keeping the pot tiny oop.

Have a think about different BR strategies with low stakes PLO maybe? I get bored online super easy so I just short stack these and move up levels min buying each time. It's a spin but that's what you want paying that rake.

One of the advantages of ss PLO is that better players will actually avoid playing pots with you due to lack of value. This is exactly what you want. You can even do a martingale sort of staking plan up and down the levels. It's not classy PLO but is profitable (sober). Hic.

Christ I'm a crap poster nowadays.

Taken about 10 posts to make the point I should have been able to make succinctly in 1.

And people will still probably think I'm trying to defend Guy and David.

You are still the Master.

Anyway thanks for your views and suggestions, New job March 3rd lesson learnt, Same industry so may get some payback reading there customer base.
This was the gross misconduct. Same thing happened to my mate 3 years ago. Headhunted by a rival insurance company and was sacked within 24 hours of accepting his new role. He was positive his e mails and texts were monitored by his firm.

He now has 2 phones business and personal. We obviously all rip the piss out of him as he looks like a drug dealer with his multi phone comedy capers.

My advice would be to move on. That's business. I wouldn't want anyone to work for me either if they were going to be chasing the same client base for a rival next month.

I am a big CAB fan also. They help with all sorts. Hope your new job is a belter too. Enjoy.

In the curling what would be the penalty for one of the sweepers accidentally kicking a stone that they were trying to step over?
From wiki

Burning a stone
Occasionally, players may accidentally touch a stone with their broom or a body part. This is often referred to as burning a stone. Players touching a stone in such a manner are expected to call their own infraction (see Good sportsmanship). Touching a stationary stone when no stones are in motion (there is no delivery in progress) is not an infraction (unless the stationary stone is struck in such a manner that its position is altered), and is a common way for the skip to indicate a stone that is to be taken out.
When a stone is touched when stones are in play, the remedies vary[14][24] between placing the stones as they end up after the touch, replacing the stones as they would have been if no stone were touched, or removal of the touched stone from play. In non-officiated league play, the skip of the non-offending team has the final say on where the stones are placed after the infraction.

This is a great strategy game curling. Today's game GB v CAN was all on the last stone and our skip could of easily tied the game but decided to go all in! What a balls up. In running betting on the finals would be a complete punt and laugh.

Canadian third was giving me the horn a bit as she had her top unzipped and the camera angle was a doozie. Yep. This is my favourite Olympic event.

This luge pairs event on the telly now is a funny event. The bloke underneath must have the easiest job of any Olympian surely? How do they train for that?

personally i think smart players should  never, ever talk about ranges, hands and poker at the table. Talk about waitresses, punting, sport.

as played i see very few folds from utg, looks like a fold in this kind of field. If villain is the type to splash/raisefold AX against you ofc jam starts to look much more attractive.

Agree...dont normally talk hands and yes its normally footy n valets!

Villain was bb flatted pre n donked
All you ever went on about was boobs/booze. Perfect range I thought.
57  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: Turn decision in live game, check the turn?? on: February 03, 2014, 05:33:41 AM
How many chips did oppo have? I am pretty pissed again so probably missed this but I did read it twice. If he is decent as you infer he should have a set or 78?  K8 seems a pretty poor call pre oop. He won't bet 12k on river unless he is vv good with 78 so you are beat or he has gone bananas with 9t.

What did he have left or is he Aaawwww in?

The turn decision is dependent on his stack size too. It's either check/fold or bet/fold. I seem to find decent live players don't like making pots big oop early doors without either a hand or good equity. There aren't any hands with great drawing equity here though.

It's quite an interesting hand tbh.

C'mon.

When will i-poker sort this out? Or is it just globalisation?

Like knock the small players out of the  mobile market? Gouty is wazzaered but surely if DTD sats were on  an app they would hit the target market.

I would 100% 3bet pre-flop, AA** (even bad ones) are so easy to play in 3bet pots when you're 100bb deep, and IMO harder to play (in particular the really ropey ones) in 3 or 4 way single raised pots, so I think it's a mandatory 3bet pre-flop.

Would prolly fold the flop too, it's quite dry but he's betting into 2 people and if we do have the best hand, then we're gonna hate pretty much every turn card, K/Q/J/T/9/7 only ones we gonna like is A's and prolly 2's - 4' 5's 6's are like MEH mmm as well. Basically we're prolly JUST getting the price to call with our hand vs his range right now (we might not be) and we have rough playability down the streets, even if he checks a 7 turn we're still quite likely to lose the hand.

River is like, pfffffff, in midstakes games vs anyone who doesn't appear to bbe very passive/straight forward i just call here w/e top of my range (pretty much) and people can do silly things but at this level like OXFORD says prolly just has a QT with two other cards that connected in some way with the board OTT. So for me calling = stnd and i look for reasons to fold but it should prolly be the other way round at this level.
If we had raised pre we could fold now on river but I suppose we have to call now as we are under repped? We can only really fold if we know oppo is an uber nit in a live game.
