on his facebook page they say Re4 Kb5 & c4 , not checked this & not sure it works ? taking e3 buys a move , Rxe3 first move draws , other thing want to check is Re4, Rxe3 followed by Rb3+ , the trouble here is that the c pawn needs to be on 5th rank to promote

was the answer the same line or little bit different ?
was a great puzzle & finding rook a1 a realy strange move , goes against everything we want to do
playing themed tourneys help understanding values of pieces & sacking them , plan to arrange a tourney at my club sometime with themed game like mad gambits ie Lopez counter-gambit, Jaenisch variation & Giuoco Piano: Therkatz-Herzog variation

Care to elaborate..? 1 Re4..Kb5 forced as rook takes the A file 2 Rxe3..Kb4 3 Re4+.. Kb5 4 c4.. Kb4 5 c5+ .. Kb3 6 Kd2 .. Kb2 clears the E file for the rook to a1 7 Re1 .. a2 8 Ra1 & black is in zugzwang taking will leave the king stuck on a1 & the pawn will promote Brilliant. And if the king doesn't take the rook on a1? 8 Ra1 .. a4 9 Kd1 .. a3 , 10 Kd2 .. Kb3 , 11 Kc1 & pawns on a file will go looking at this again think Rxe3 works in the same way but bit quicker

OK. I have the solution to the TomSom-Carlsen joint venture puzzle.
Reveal tonight.
my first thoughts was Re5+ & if king moves to protect the a pawn then check with the b pawn so being able to get the rook onto a4 or a3 now think Re4 is the move , looked at some nice lines involved with sacing the rook on a1 & blocking the king in & promoting the pawn
