i'd make it more pre and certainly more on the flop for sure

and as played i'd be calling river but then i never fold

+1. Id defo raise pre ib more inclinded to make it £30 if he peels wide and folds flops a lot we want hin calling off as much as possible pre imo
also you have a really good hand lol. Barrel flop, Barrel turn for me.

As played like brammar says I call cos i literally hate folding, espcially live when they rep such thin value amd they probably doint VB half as thinly as they should. Having said this its probably one of those spots where you cant figure out exactly how he got you, with what hand, or where in the hand, but you know he has a better hand somehow....
10007  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: small pair in live cash game on: August 19, 2010, 01:30:12 PM
I think you can win this pot on turn nearly 100%. forget about trying to hit you 3 imo, there is 65bbs out there and no-one is showing a morsal of strength, you can credibly rep a 5, make it £50 and win the pot.

I would be extremely suprised if first to act decides to lead for 1/12 pot with any of his value range at all, 99/100 its one of those stupid blockerish bets people do when they dont know what to do. Your in relative position to the action and you have zero hand....it's spots like these that are seriously exploitable in live games because people can have like QQ/KK and fold here.
10008  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Heads Up War. 3 Interesting Spots... on: August 19, 2010, 01:24:49 PM
HU battle vs monkily aggro Scandi he plays about 47/43/33 which even HU is pretty nuts.

He is wildly unpredictable, when he bnarrels 3 he leads for pot pretty much every street, have about 500 hands with him and I've seen him make 2nd pair call offs and bet fold for half my stack etc so he's full of moves.

Wondered what people think of these spots.

Wat do people think of the play throughout this hand? would people prefer to c/call river, who bets turn as played?

10009  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: Standard preflop but prompted debate on: August 19, 2010, 11:46:22 AM
with antes it really does cost you money long run to raise anything more than 3x with your entire range,

I think I would g g g g et it in and hope no A's or K's come.
10010  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: What type of Villian do we call against here? on: August 19, 2010, 07:27:50 AM
Nitpicky but 4b pot pf idk why you'd do anything different. Two pretty key parts to the hand:

a) a lot of his 7x hands have to have some sort of draw to go call flop which begs the question of why he isnt jamming with a pair and draw in a 4b pot this deep unless the draw is very weak. he could have 78xx but it's a super uncoordinated 78xx that 3bs your utg open flats a 4b and then can't jam flop(i.e he can't really have 782j can he).

b) turn is a great spot for him to b/c any draw that DID call the flop since you just can't continue with the majority of your 4b range and most l1 randoms will assume that you just never check stuff you want to stack off with on this board since it'd be silly to give free cards, or something.

Basically calling river depends on deciding if it is reasonable for him to have 78 or 7x or not since those are the hands that bet for value that beat you. Looking at a) if he stacks off close to correctly in 3/4b pots I'd be calling the river since he can't really have many 7x 78 hands as they'd ship flop. On the other hand if he's just a random at 1/2 he might find a way to play 7x+draw 78 incredibly passively on the flop/turn. If he's type two then he'l never ever ever bluff the river because he thinks you have two pair aces and sevens and all the draws missed.

wiiiiiii enter P2k Smiley.

ty. Knowing little to nothing about the villain exceot for some extremely variable pices of info, and with this analysis, given that yes he is a random 1 tabling, so wont be bluffing all that often, but at the same time has so few houses/7s he takes this line with (as you say how often he has 7/78xx hands, how often he bets full pot with a house and how often he bets a 7 at all - I think a naked seven gets checked back here far more than it should) do you go with the "he rarely has it" or the "he isnt bluffing that frequently" approach, with our lack of extra information?

My default for these spots is just to call because I dont like folding when players I dont know take "non-standard" lines vs me when they ultimatley end up repping an extremely thin value range because people are spazzing out so often that it seems like a mistake. This may well be spewy idk

as for preflop not sure why I didnt pot it, you know my tendancy to piss about with pre-flop sizing. I think I was probably trying to exercise some balance in 3bet sizing given there were some regs on the table, I often 3/4bet smaller In pos super deep because its impossible to get the PSR shallow enough for a pot/commit on the flop that I think in certain spots its good to try and keep the PSR as deep as you can while 3/4betting (for "wiggle voom")....obv this spot vs a random in pos with AAxx it seems pretty stupid to anything but pot. this was probs the session after i watched the skjervoy vid and I was just trying to be him.

Thanks for taking the time out to comment buddy, I know how busy you are Wink x

Can you people share some videos here cause videos are best way to learn and understand

Haven't got any. Have you?

If anyone is looking for a sick PLO vid, then check out Andreas Tolberson (a.k.a Skjervoy) first vid on Cardrunners, admittedly im an insane Skjervoy fanboy, but the man is ABSOLUTLEY INCRED at PLO, plus he says "wiggle room" a lot in his soft scandi accent which makes me laugh lol (defo straight if any ladies reading)

edit. about 1000000-1 for there to be ladies reading this thread.

1. Jam
2. Call playing for pair value as well as set mining
3. Would never open this utg+1 with stack sizes and icm reasons, meh call and set mine if he is baddish, fold if he is good.
4. Jam
5. Wouldn't open pre for reasons like 3, probs fold unless villain is bad postflop.

Agree with this except I fold TT

Really? wow, for what reason?

Im a SnG fish so this isnt rude its genuine question.

Jam

Call

Would strongly consider jamming 22 aswel, cos he isnt calling it off with  three clubs 3dthrough  very often but will call AK.

10015  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: How do i play these fookin hands? more plo help needed pls on: August 18, 2010, 11:47:31 PM
I disagree that hand 1 is an easy fold. vs a 50bb stack (who we assume probably isnt very good) then theres a ton of junky clubs and Txxx hands he has, plus if you factor in how often he folds the flop, which he will do suprisingly more often than you think the play is profitable imo. having said this I played a bit of 100 6max recently i was defo a bit overly spewy in these spots. But i think its a really common mistake in PLO for people to drastically undervalue made hands (even 1p hands) on these textures.

Hand 2 I would be much happier to bet lead this flop, by taking such a passive route with a hand that is so strong your leaving yourself susceptable to making an incorrect fold at a later point in the hand and this will cost you loads long, plus this is no where near being a spot where you only get action from nutted hands, there are tons of hands that will pay off at least two streets, plus this deep there is no danger to inflating the pot even without the nuts as the board pairing is likely to kill your action completely. If called id happily lead this turn again.

As played probs just c/call turn c/raising wont achieve much here, id c/call all board pairing and heart rivers, really not sure on a blank Id defo c/call occasionally but id probably fold, but its such a delicous spot to barrel again if he's been betting diamonds and blockers id hate myself for folding.
10016  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: Hmmm, decisions, decisions on: August 18, 2010, 08:52:13 PM
Who all those who think  is a bad hand, allow me illustrate the kind of hands you can make with it...
  - A royal flush an outstandingly good hand
two spades   - the NUT flush, a very strong hand
  - the K-9 straight, a stroing hand, often the nuts.
        - the second nut flush, a very very good hand
  - four of a kind kings, an EXTREMELY EXTREMELY STRONG HAND.
  - Jacks full of kings, another high ranking hand (full house)

Id raise/call hand 2 most likely unless he's very good.

10017  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: What type of Villian do we call against here? on: August 18, 2010, 08:45:08 PM
really? imo this is a default call, but its one of those spots where i think its pretty villian specific....

Obv we fold vs NITs and Regs, but Id be interested to hear some other people's opinions on wether vs randoms/known fish without much history/reads this is a default fold/call?

Big Charra you out there for some advising Wink

10019  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: Semi Interesting Spot on: August 16, 2010, 05:25:00 PM
As much as i agree that c/calling is the better line given that his range includes very few hands that can call a shove, but given that this always means the vast majority of his range will check back surely in this particular vacuum its the best play to just shove the river, then when he folds as he will 9/10 instead fo checking back say 8/10 at least wizard boy hasnt seen your cards?

its awesome when you 3ball AK and flop a pair.
10020  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Reasons why I ask is it worth it? on: August 13, 2010, 09:34:41 PM
I know a lot of people from all different walks of life, and sometimes I get a lot of disrespect for being a poker player, but I never dispespect anyones lifestyle and I think that's important, poker players might haves much different attitude to money, but they might not value itless, bankers in London buying chapagne for lunch what's wrong with that?

On the why don't youget a job instead of borrowing money comment, gotta say that's pretty narrow minded...put urself ina situation whereyouhavea 5 figure financial commitment and ur whole br is gone if you pay it? If that was a bossiness what would you say "oh well declare urself bust and get a job at tesco" or do anything you can to sort it. The trick to stay in control. I never borrowed money specifically to gamble with and the accusation a bit disrespectful.
