best option seems to be then, call a GE each party has to include brexit plan in its manifesto and whoever wins gets to do that.

Brexit might be long term best for the UK, or it might not...but one thing no one can disagree with surely is that the Bexit process is one of the worst things thats happened for a fair while.

Used to be the case that MPs were elected by the public to act as public servants and carry out the will of the people

Thought that was democracy

Now we have MPs refusing to exercise the will of the people, seemingly about to force another vote upon the people, squeezing the elected government to bend to their will

Not sure what that is but doesn’t look like democracy to me.

Remain might celebrate this turn of events but it’s a pretty dangerous road to travel, regards democracy, freedom and overall public engagement in politics. But as long as the minority get what they want...

I agree to a point that it's somewhat of a dangerous road to go down having a referendum and then look to go back on it, but on the other hand BREXIT has become one of possibly the biggest political messes in history. There doesn't appear to be any solution on the horizon and options for any resolution look bleak to me, why not let the population decide?  Put a few options together, No - Deal, Medium-soft, Soft and NO Brexit and see which one wins, if the nation wants brexit to go through then surely it'll pass a second vote?

If there was any chance whatsoever of this mess sorting itself out then I'd be strongly against a second ref on principle (even though I voted remain) however not really seeing how it does.

Perhaps I should give the government a bit more credit for being able to sort it, but as I said before I don't think any politician living or dead could handle brexit properly, I think it's just impossible.

Whole thing is a full on debacle, but im fed up of people blaming leave voters or speaking to them like they don't understand what they're doing, really annoys me that, it's not the fault of anyone voting leave that this mess has come, I didn't vote it but i respect why people did.

How would you price Gurney v Barney in Holland in the PL in 3 weeks?  Will Barney be close to a fav given how mental the crowd was last year out there?

6/5 gurney 9/4 barney if they played tomorrow imo

Few edges in barneys favour but he's just not playing well enough or showing anything enough, gurney playing alright overall just missing a bit of the mega scoring that made him so dangerous, get the feeling he's sort of out of love with it at the moment.

contenders been an amazing success thus far, been no games including contenders that have been anything close to a walkover.

Not sure if it can live as a long term thing but a great idea for this year.

Need good Prem now we aint got much major darts to do for a few months.

I dont agree with the death penalty for one primary reason, and that is i fundamentally believe no 1 human being or collection of human beings should be given the right/responsibility of deciding if another human should live or die.

In America i hear the phrase "pushing for the dealth penalty" and really makes me uneasy. Who actually decides too, do the jury or judge? To me personally that is just wrong.

Having said that, Adz puts a specific example forward and asks 'does this person deserve to live', and i agree 100% with him on NO.... and the fact he will be a burden to society is also ssomething a find frustrating. However its not a simple issue and not black and white and my feelings on my initial point outweigh this.

There is also a fair bit of data that suggests corporal punishment is not a deterrent to murder... but that's less relevant for me as there is actually very little aggressive method of deterring people from crime, outside of social incentives which lead to an entirely different discussion.

When the tournament cuts up and there no MVG or Anderson going deep then the final can be a bit of a damp squib, especially in formats where they have multiple games on finals day. These guys just aren’t used to playing with that intensity. Cross admitted he had nothing left for the final.

Yep, even Anderson (and even more so with his back) has said the long multi game days take their toll on him, MVG is an animal and deals with this so much better than anyone else and hence why he's been able to dominate so much, you could tell Cross just totally out of gas from back to back BO21 games, hence why he hit 8 180s and only averaged 84, he played well this weekend and should be pretty happy overall i think.

Would be much better for these tournaments if the finals weren't played same day as the 1/4s and semis but cant really see the alternative, i thought the tournament was amazing - not blistering averages but so many really entertaining games.

Terrific game, Price didn't play badly either he just started slowly and gave Asp a little too much of a head start . he started throwing the sink at him and he responds with some top drawer clutch darts, the 121 bang under it on the bull and the 239 in 5 darts with Price waiting is just pure class.

2019 looks to be shaping up rosy for those two, Asp world #22 whatever happens in the final. He's no gimme for in that final either vs either a Rob Cross who struggles for consistency on these multi-game days or a Micheal Smith with a whole in his leg.

I love the business end of majors, always so much on the line for rankings;

2   Rob Cross           England   +£793,000
3   Peter Wright   Scotland   £573,250
4   Gary Anderson   Scotland   £557,000
5   Daryl Gurney   N. Ireland   £522,750
6   Michael Smith   England   +£500,500
7   Gerwyn Price   Wales   +£401,500

8   Mensur Suljovic   Austria   £396,250

Price, who I agree Arb is certainly in the top 4 in the world on current form, does still have a bit of a maintain to climb to get there, if he picks up a wi here he'll be on 490k~ and right in the thick of it, if he busts to Smith in the semis he's going to find himself a fair bit adrift, Mensur is hot on his heels too and some daylight between him and the big man would likely be well received! If Smith can pick up a win then he'll leapfrog into world #3, and thats gonna be a good place to be come the back end of the year when cross has nearly £500k to defend! On the same train, in a year Cross has £600,000 to defend and a hungry pack chasing him, picking up £100k in the first major of the year would be an unreal start to the year, as he really needs to post some money this year or could find himself outside the top 10!

As for Nathan Aspinall, a win for him puts him in the top 16! Which would be quite the achievement, the semi final puts him in the top 25 and a final will get him really knocking on the door of the top 20, its a massive charge for him and I think he could be really really challenging for the a top 16 spot come the worlds.

Lots to play for, and its fun that 3/4 of them are guys making runs and not guys defending like usual. The PDC majors are so competitive these days and if you can put some results together you can really bomb up there.

been a great tournament this, 1/4 finals are a nice looking set of games - Stevenson vs Price is the main mis-match Price on current form should win with 1 eye closed, fair play to mirror man who's taken advantage of some sub-par performances by bigger names and been good and steady but i think his race run here.

Other 3 games, I think the faves are justified but could see the underdogs getting a result in every game.

Think Cross @ 3/1 to win it has a snippet of value there, major doubts that Bully can last the day with his injury and Beaton a tougher game at this stage of the comp than Payne for me (as much as I like Josh Payne) so dont see why Bully should be shorter than Cross. Price a justified fave for every good reason an it's all priced in. Would like to bet Asp too wish I could get a bit higher than

It's definitely a good thing that its becoming more and more socially acceptable to open up about mental health issues, I do feel for kids these days growing up in the school system - my cousin is 16 and going through it and the pressure from schools (and on schools) is immense, when you add in all the pressures that social media brings I'm really glad that its less of an embarrassing thing to admit too and more people are getting help.  When I was at school, I didn't have social media etc but I really felt the pressures of the school system churning you through the 1. GOOD GRADES, 2. GET TO UNI, 3. DEGREE, 4. GOOD JOB production chain, it wasn't the path i went down but several of my friends came out at 23 could only get bar work and they ended up quite depressed about it. I imagine it's even tougher these days.

I'm sure lots of people in my generation at school (and moreso the generations before) suffered from some element of mental health issues/depression and found no medium to ask for help, or felt too embarrassed about it etc and that probably affected a lot of people negatively going into adult life.  I certainly never saw anything or anyone offering help or support for depression or mental health when i was at school, so I'm really happy this is changing. It's one of those things which will never go away but we can learn to deal with it and support people better. Despite all the poltical meltdown the UK is still one of the best places to live on the planet as if you can ask for help, you'll often get it - and if you can't ask for whatever reason there are more and more ways of help finding you.

I agree it seems high and 'poor mental health' is quite vague but given the current state of things i find it not the least bit surprising that more and more young people in tbe education system are struggling with mental health
