Doubt you'll get action on 3 days, you need that 4th day imo.

Though yeah, you might die.

Been medically advised to reduce this to 60, so no chance of 4-1 lol

Wow, this is either very brave or very very misguided. After 4-5 days of no sleep you would most likely be suffering from psychosis. I just can't see it being physically possible, assuming you aren't going to be using any psychostimulants (amphetamines, etc)

How long did flushy do a few years ago, was it 48 hours? And at the end he was seeing random objects where cards should have been.

I suggest you go on pubmed.com and read up on sleep deprivation. This is not a scientific source, but when David Blaine did his sleep deprivation thing he said "After 36 hours of sleep deprivation it's like being drunk, 72 hours and paranoia sets in, Day Four the mind goes into hallucinations and you're dreaming while awake."

so..
1) Don't do it - there is probably some not-insignificant risk of long term brain damage.
2) If you do it, let me know so I can lump some money on.

Tom

Thanks for the feedback. it seems that this is severly ill-advised from a medical prospective, so i mihgt have to lower the hours.
9994  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: Raise or Call on: August 20, 2010, 05:30:56 PM
I would also raise the river.

You can never really have a boat, so for this reason I think he'll bet/call for value wider.
9995  Poker Forums / The Rail / Prop Bet Idea on: August 20, 2010, 05:23:44 PM
During dinner last night i claimed  could play poker for 100hours straight.

Iv never actually done it but I reckon i could.

I'll take bets at 4-1 in my favour if enough action is aquired we'll set it up!

Guage some interest here and then il set some rules up!

What about one of the glass jobbies but you also insert the winning cards, that'd be unique and quite cool imo

GENIUS!

9998  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Staking Proposal on: August 20, 2010, 03:00:58 PM
As i wrote elsewhere not sure this is going to work, because of what the stakee is going to be making as a "pro" player.

I quick google suggest 7ptbb/100 is near the ceiling for a good player at this limit, so that is 14bb/100. 4 tarbling you get get about 200 hands an hour, so that is an hourly rate of $14/hr +rb split 50/50 so about $10/hr give or take. So he is going to be working for about what you get in maccy d's, without the free cheeseburgers.

For this to work you are going to have to give him a bigger cut/ stake him at higher limits imo.

I think Adz just needs to learn to play more tables mate. He's gotta be at LEAST 6 tabling. 9 really isn't hard at these limits. I used to play 9 or 12 tarbs of 25c50c

Were you winning playing 9-12 tables? I find that very hard to believe.............

Just look at my first 25c50c cash staking thread woodsey. Was winning and raking loads.

Fair enough, didn't you do your nuts on another one or was that a different stakes? Sorry not taking the piss or 'owt, just asking...........

yeh at $0.50/1.

Across all the limits I've played, I've beaten 25c50c, $1/2 and $2/4. Got battered at 50/1 though

how many hands u played at 1/2 and 2/4?...........probs no where near enough to sugest your a winning player at those stakes.stop deluding yourself

Maybe only like 30,000 or so at $2/4 (which could be considered an insufficient sample) but I've played over 150,000 hands at $1/2 PLO and probably about 100k hands at 25c50c.

Please post more.

Im loosing lifetime at .50/1 aswell over like 100k hands lol. above EV as well, well played me Smiley
I agree though, play more tables, you can profitably 9-12 table these stakes 100%
9999  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: PLO bankroll requirements / staking question on: August 20, 2010, 02:56:30 PM
I have staked/been staked for low stakes PLO I sent 30 buyins and told him to ask for more money if he needed it. I was prepared for 100buyin swings.
When i got staked i got sent 50buyins and told to drop down if had more than 20buyin downswing.

Both times we did 50/50 profit split.

I think it should take him 10weeks, he will surely play more than 3 tables? its impossible to get decent volume in playing any less than 6 imo. as you say 3/4 tabling is probably optimal, but itssss all about the hourly Smiley

I have 110k hands of 100plo on my database and raked $11k and change.
10000  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: Live 200nl hand. on: August 20, 2010, 12:20:09 PM
£25 would be my magic number

If we were playing 400nl online and the btn limped and sb compelted you raise to $25 too yeah?

its completely different imo.  The situation here is that you a weak passive player limping, and another player repping zero stregnth, your hand flops extremely well and your in a perfect spot to squeeze. ALSO its a good to be seen as fairly LAG from your straddle because these pots are always going to be bigger.

Basically you're ISO'ing the weak passive guy, so you need to raise bigger.....and i cant believe the BB folded what a nit lol
10001  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: Heads Up War. 3 Interesting Spots... on: August 20, 2010, 06:40:43 AM
i don't play much PLO HU but in NLHE HU i would consider 47/43 pretty nitty.

You think somone 3betting 33% of hand over a decent sample is nitty?
10002  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: Not an Orthdox call on: August 19, 2010, 08:34:25 PM
I wouldn't listen to what a lot of casino regs tell you. Theres a reason that they've been grinding the same tournaments in the same casino for 20+ years

if i had a £1 coin for every time a bitter old man had told someone at the roulette wheel next too the cash game at gala what a bad call id made then I wouldnt need to play cash at gala Smiley

and MASSIVE plus1s to keeping your cards face down, flashing Aces doesnt really mean anything, except you probably had  and were gonna fold if someone shoved....not that anyone pays a blind piece of noitice anyway.
10003  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: Deep HU in private tournament on: August 19, 2010, 08:23:34 PM
What has the 3betting dynamic been/has there been one? If there hasn't been a lot of 3betting going on then your 3bet sizing seems pretty transparent - you have a decent hand but you really don't wanna be outflopped. Do you make it 40k with AA in this spot?

If you don't expect villain to 2 or 3 barrel light then I much prefer a flat preflop. 3betting mid pairs is gunna put you in a ton of tough spots postflop if you're against an aggro opponent.

You don't really give any reads at and reads are obviously everything heads up.

Readless though I think its really close but I jam it. With his raise sizing he has only left 160k behind so can't fold 7x. Without his fold to 3bet frequency its hard to know how many 7x hands he can have in his range though. I suspect that you haven't been 3betting often enough and seen enough showdowns in 3bet pots to know this for sure though

I probably would 3 bet with AA here vs this player. I think a lot of the time he would be pushing with AK, JJ+. What confused me the most about the hand was the call. I would generally expect him to 4 bet ship it here with the hands suggested or pass < 99.

I have him on 4 hands at the time. And I'll explain why. When the flop hit and I led out, he thought for about 10 seconds and then stuck it in. After a minute or so I tried to get a read from him so started talking to him. After a while he declared that it was a "perfect flop for him." Now given the fact that I think he shoves pre with JJ+ and that I have 99, I think his most likely holdings are 66, 77, 88, 1010.

Given all of this information I really felt like I was only beating 88 or a bluff and I suppose 88 is somewhat of a bluff really given the strength I'd shown?

Too much thought?

There is no way he is turning 88 into a bluff, if he is then its really dumb cos you;re not/he shouldnt expect you to fold overpairs so he is raise getting it in with 88 then it would be for value exclusivly, even though there are few value hands you have that 88 is ahead of. I thin you may just not quite have adjusted accurately and adapted your ranges 100% vs this guy HU, I know we're working off tiny samples but you need to expect him to widen up significantly in spots like these as he is expecting you to as well I imagine. providing there is some sort of dynamic where you can 3bet stuff that isnt juist big pairs (i.e hands that bet fold these textures, JTs/KQ etc) then he's gonna wanna gamble with hands lik 7x/55/65 etc given that you're gonna fold some of the time he raises aswel. I really cant see anything else but getting it in....
10004  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: Live 200nl hand. on: August 19, 2010, 07:43:00 PM
Raise pre is bad.  The way this hand went down you have to call the river, the hand does not make sense for him unless he has precisely J9hh

I have to disagree with anti-raising pre comments, I actually think checking this back in the straddle is a mistake.
10005  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: Heads Up War. 3 Interesting Spots... on: August 19, 2010, 07:38:36 PM
I'm calling hand 1

Hand 2 I really wanna call but it really sucks when we get shown the 4568dd. I dunno, its close and I don't really think that either option is gunna be a big mistake in the long run

Hand 3 I just c/f the flop, but I'm a noob at HU PLO, still learning.

Yeah, hand 3 is kinda strange. I take these lines often vs active opponents like Rabatzki cos I have a hand that is marginally favourite over his entire range to open the btn and cbet, (fwiw i often lead these hands as well) but I c/raise vs players that c-bet too wide because I prefer it to check/calling because I have to fold so many turns, it also bides well to have c/r/fold hands like this in your range for when you flop massive makes it much easier to take 1/2 streets from 1pair/draw hands that would fold ordiarily. But yeah most of the time i either lead/c/fold.
Lots of people who are really good at plo hate this line though so it might be tez still idk!
