Call but no way is Pete spazzing here. He has something. Most probs a flip. Think he 3 bet calls top of his range and 3 bet folds his bluff. Agree with cos and Matt- plinton has adjusted his game

This/These

Done it a while back- good few years ago in Vegas, eating in FIX which is basically a hyped up fast food joint. Everyone doing it in, been there way too long- im hungover as hell, dont wanna eat there- take one for the team- only order Sashimi starter as a main, and drink water. Get moaned at for complaining about flipping card in, put it in, lose 6 way knowing card is a million. Rest of table knows this, and as i look up everyone one is tactically looking away trying not to laugh, except one person who made the amateur mistake of keeping eye contact. Cheers Demps Smiley

What does 'card is a million' mean?

I believe it means the implied probability of the transaction being accepted by Dubai's bank is 0.0001%

Actually the 220 at Hexham today was one of the filthiest e/w races I have ever seen.  Front two were 8/11 and 6/4 and both were 1.11 the place on betfair whilst the third and fourth in were 16/1 shots and something like 2.34 on betfair the place each.

Yeah was heinous. Account closing stuff Wink

That might just be the feeeelthiest ew race that I have ever seen.

On.

Hmm there's plenty dirtier. Once you take into acct -EV of the win parts of second and third in versus +EV of place part you're only looking at a couple of % even getting best price in the market.

Think Linton (as a decent, thinking, aggressive player) re-raises premiums to c13-14k as it's perfect size to induce a shove, and if you don't he will play well post-flop even oop.

If this is true we can call here comfortably.

The thing is, and obv Linton knows this, we can also fold comfortably and still have almost twice the chips we had but five-ten minutes ago. I'd expect him to be putting the pressure on with two big cards that he maximises the equity of by getting in pre-flop if you do have a raise-calling hand.

I do like "oligopoly".

Suitably niche yet at times very useful in a genuine, rather than contrived, conversation/piece of writing.

Yep.

There's one here: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=tesco+hammersmith&fb=1&gl=uk&hq=tesco&hnear=0x48760fc15cd337c3:0xa0eae30461e4040,Hammersmith,+Greater+London&cid=0,0,12376529411076441453&ei=sfLcTsqQG4TRhAfZ0dnlDQ&sa=X&oi=local_result&ct=image&ved=0CBEQ_BI

Not exactly next door but the drive is simple/friendly enough.

Not entirely dissimilar to a poker equivalent of Betfair's much maligned premium charge.

As pleno states, support of the ecosystem is hugely important. Rakeback (ie. a reward for multi-tabling breakeven/winning players) actually rewards exactly the wrong people (in terms of longterm platform profitability).

The money made by a Poker company over the year, though = to the sum of the rake paid, is also = (Total Deposits - Total Withdrawals - Total Customer Balances)

If you can increase the first part of the equation from recreational souls, decrease the second part through discouraging winners and keep the third part constant, your revenues go up.

Without the fresh meat the whole thing eventually cannibalises itself.

Not sure if its just me but calling that shove with A4 for around 45% of your stack seems a bit tardy to me?

you've not met Mitchell Johnson have you?

Not tardy at all. He made a straight and made the other guy fold a full house.

Good luck Mitch, Barry and Lintanon

+1

Great updates too- thanks to all who make them possible both updaters and those who finance them.
2113  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: First post. Right fold? Right place to post?? on: December 01, 2011, 12:43:19 PM
Well my first post and im disappointed. Setting a bad example for the forum that fourth response. Just re thinking through my hand and thought I'd join and ask. No need for a response like that.

Any other lines I could take for those who are half decent on here and could give me some useful info about the hand that may improve my game?

Your disappointment is understandable, Abz, but don't rush to judgement, most of the posters on PHA are quite helpful. "Keylek" is also a very new Member of blonde, & perhaps has not yet caught the mood & tone of PHA.

I rarely comment on PHA, but your hand was just one of those things, a sort of cooler, & you are obliged to do the lot there. If you don't, you are probably doing something wrong.
SIGH. not you on the cooler band wagon too. i remember a day when we could fold these sort of hands face up and the whole card room buzzed about an amazing fold Tikay made tonight. now the majority of the room sniggers behind our backs Smiley

welcome to blonde Abz

Game's changed though.

Not football but figure I should give something back.

Fancy prices gone but looks like Ralph Beckett has got one ready at Wolves this evening: Hurry Up George in the 6pm. Nice e/w shape too...

I've seen a special tonight somehwere for Spurs, Brum and Celtic to score over 4.5 goals between them.

Please don't look at oddschecker, what price would ppl make this?

Research by all means but don't 'look' for the actual price.

Off the top of my head, 11/8-6/4

Suppose we'd need Spurs to get 2 as a minimum, Celtic 1, maybe 2, and Brum just to nick one.

When I saw 13/8 for all brit teams to score over 4.5 I wrongly immeadiately thought of Shamrock too, that might have swung it even more.

Principal factor for me will be the Spurs team/price. 4/9 and a shade bigger on the exchange at the moment but this could move considerably dependent on team news I would have thought?
