I usually take these opportunities to post this....

One the basis of the (bizarre) lineup Rodgers has put out again tonight I think 13/2 Raheem Sterling is a really, really good bet to score first tonight.

Khan is certainly not a 33/1 shot to beat Mayweather but he is probably a 11/2 shot and maybe 2/1 to get the fight which makes him nearly 20-1 before you factor in what price he is to win spoty if he does all of that.  Its probably not awful tbh and I actually half fancy him for the Mayweather fight if he gets it.  Think he matches up well.

This is basically my reasoning, red.

It's not a mile out but I like our side over the bookies'. Of course, when you factor in tying up money for a year, it probably evens out.

He could end up fighting Manny, instead. Or get arrested.

Just been pointed out to me that Khan is a lot shorter for the fight if it happens.....so if you believe the bookies prices it is probably even better.  Off the top of my head if he beat PBF he would have to be close to odds on.  Hatton would have won it without a doubt if he had neat PBF that year although he fought literally the night before the ceremony which is important.

Basically concede more shots than they take, hard to finish in the top 6 playing like this.

Their shots on target ratio is slightly positive and there is only Boro, Bournemouth and Norwich that are massively better.  It is a very, very tight division and results in the bag are important.  Given the team they have their I wouldn't be writing them off just yet.

I notice Oddschecker had set up a new market for 2015 SPOTY, and they tipped up Anthony Joshua at 33-1.

Based on some of the comments made on here today, as OC state, as long as Eddie H doesn't keep him under wraps next year, the field of candidates looks thin, and 33s seems a fair price, seeing as so many sports we have decent candidates in dont garner much SPOTY support. Boxing does OK, and pretty sure Hatton was placed the same year Calzaghe won it.

Tenner at 33s?

I would be fairly surprised if he got a shot at a world title next year (maybe a 20-1 shot to challenge) and I think he would need to do that and win if he was to be spoty.  Surely a European Champ etc wouldn't be able to win it given how badly Froch polled last night.

man alive Schneiderlin going off made a big difference

midfield was a very good contest with him in front of the back four

without him, less so

Totally this.  He is so important to them defensively because of the way he executes that high press.

US police officer Darren Wilson - who fatally shot unarmed black teenager Michael Brown in the Missouri town of Ferguson - has resigned from the force.

"Handing in my resignation is the hardest thing I've ever had to do" He said in a written statement.

Now I don't know the truth about what happened on the 9th of August, and perhaps only one person ever will, but that statement just makes me want to ask,  'What? Was it harder than shooting an unarmed black teenager 6 times Mr Wilson?'

Surely therein lies the problem....

Experience and the corners won that.  Wonder if Eubank Sr will have the humility to stand aside and give the trainers a proper chance.

Agree with that.  Probably the reason he approached the fight incorrectly and took so long to get going.

So close, yet so far with the bet.  Send me your details and I'll ship.

Will PM......was an amazingly fair bet in the end.

Such poor planning by Warren too....no chance at all this finishes before the public transport stops running.

It's not the first time either.

Funtime Frankie really is bang average.

I was really funking for him to get beat there.  He spoils every card he is on.  Would rather watch Johnny Nelsons greatest hits......

Its not even as though he should have reasonably expected any of them to finish early.

Frank Buglioni's fights would be more tolerable if BoxNation lowered their expectations of him. The only reason I tune in is to see if he loses.

He is dreadful. Massive ticket seller though hence why he gets so much airtime. Anyone competent with decent pop sparks him like Khomitsky does. He gives his opponent so many chances and he can't take a shot.

One thing that is very noticeable about Warrens promotions nowadays is that they tend to be full of ticket sellers.  When you consider that Buglioni and this kid Mitchell sell 1000+ tickets each and Gavin sells pretty well too it was an absolute certainty this would sell out and it is a measure of how far FW has fallen behind Hearn that it only sold out a 10k arena a few days before the fight.....
