I have a question regarding the LIV tour.
If its capped at 48 players, and they are still recruiting players, then they have more than 48. What happens to those who are not chosen to play in the next LIV event? Are they just discarded and then left to fend in the wilderness of not being able to play on the main tours? I'm thinking of these young up and coming players who made up the numbers in the first coupe of LIV events.

Don't watch it much anymore as i don't think the "new" pundits add anything to the show. Gonna miss Jeff though.
Yeah last season with the games spread out over the weekend I rarely watched it this season the only draw to me was Jeff and Paul. The new people just don't have the chemistry. But guessing they are aiming it at people younger than me. I know this isn't PC, but these female soccer pundits that are now everywhere, are totally spoiling the show. Its the same on all the channels.

Kenny Dalglish signing for Liverpool for £440,00 in the Summer of 77 to replace Kevin Keegan, then winning the European Cup in 78 at Wembley.
The World Cup in Argentina in 78. Seemed like football from another planet. Arie Haan scoring for Holland from 40 yards vs Italy. Scotlands manager stating they were going to win the tournament, then them losing 3-0 to Peru in their opener, with their goalie Alan Rough doing this best statue impression as a Peruvian free kick whistled into the top corner. Archie Gemmils wonder goal vs Holland.
Barrie Sheene's duel with Kenny Roberts at the British Motorbike GP in 79. Shown live on Grandstand on a Saturday afternoon, with Roberts winning by inches.
Red Rum winning the Grand National for the 3rd time in 77. I remember walking home after playing football for my primary school, still in my kit, covered in mud with everyone talking about the race later that day.
The USA beating the USSR at Ice Hockey for the gold medal of the Winter Olympics from Lake Placid in 1980.
Chrissie Evert at Wimbledon.

Wonder if kids still get these at Xmas? Click to see full-size image. |
Wow 3p value Marathon. Thats an old selection box. Apparently there was a great shortage of selection boxes this year. All stuck on containers waiting to get into Felixstowe.

Over one month since last post. I hope all is well Tom xx
All good thanks Craig. Hope you are the same. Dropping in on you one day is on my bucket list, along with buying dinner for Celtic, persuading Tony to watch Breaking Bad, and making nirvana laugh, the miserable bastard. GL with that Tom, never gonna happen, I no longer watch children's TV stuff. You ever watch Mortimer & Whitehouse Gone Fishing? It's very much an acquired taste, two old buffers in the autumn of their lives just fishing & generally messing about. They did a "Christmas Special" last night - ugh @ TV Xmas Specials - but it was utterly wonderful, & had me welling up at the end. Not sure I've ever enjoyed or even watched an Xmas Special since the days of Morecombe & Wise 40 years ago, but this was quite exceptional. Click to see full-size image. |
Supernova & myself only recently discovered this series. Who would have thought that watching a couple of old blokes fishing and talking about their medical issues could be such fun. Highly recommended.
