I dont think many would argue the table was tight - one or two limped plays or (more likely) your 'on-tilt' moves does not determine a loose table.  Dont forget for at least the first round we had 11 players at the table all with deepstacks, thats big!

You get your raising hand wrong also, I made a move on the flop, hoping you hadnt hit and you reraised me to £2k (not £3k), pot odds were inside 2.5:1 - so there was value to the call (10 outs inside straight draw and two overcards), it was a fair play. The bet was well intended, I had value to call and with the turn not hitting me and the pot growing I was best to cut and walk away, being out of position I had little choice and maybe it was better reserved for a time in position but first event nerves do get the better of you!!

dont worry max, i was joking at the table how tight it was i tried my best to loosen it up but the boy band wouldnt play

not sure which hand you were on about but i wasnt involved in it i dont think

the one i was on about when the lead singer from the boy bands made it 200 preflop you made it 500 to play from button i made it 3k hoping to take down the pot there and then the boy band folded you thought about it and called when the ace flopped i had to check fold my kings face up you showed the AKd (the only hand you could call the reraise with)

Apologies Max - didn't mean for me and Iron to temporarily hijack your thread.

Congrats on a great result.  I don't think I tangled very much with you on the start table but you obviously got through it safely enough, and you did have to overcome close proximity to Ironside's singing!

At least he didn't class you as part of the 'boyband' though!

How else would u have played the hand?

I dont pretend it was my greatest play but I was marginally behind at this point.

The fact he was checking down on the button meant that if I bet I dont think I would have a caller and the end result would have been the same anyway. If he was prepared to bet the river (or the turn) as I had hoped (maye with a small ace) then I could raise and see where I stood. Betting into this just commited too many chips with limited value in the play - if i was raised, I was in a big decison for the title or hed fold and the outcome would be the same.

I shouldnt worry about committing yourself to this pot flopping a house with KK. I cant believe you actually checked it down worried that he had a bigger house. At this stage of the tournament, why when the blinds are big relative to the stacks are you worried about getting your chips in with a house? Also what hand are you waiting to get your chips in with?

No offence, your strategyworked fine, you won the tournament! But in future if you play big tournaments you must not be overly worried of people beating your hand all the time or you will get eaten up!

Best of luck for the future and congratulations Smiley
