Ok, I said think positive...someone obviously has a sense of humour... I want to explain this next hand.... but I can't. Really.

Blinds are 6k/12k

Mehmet raises to 37k on the button. Tina Jordan moves all-in for 194k, she has him covered by 6k. He calls all-in with...... . She has .

Board:

Tina's last 6k goes in next hand in a checked down pot between Mehmet and Mark. Where Memhet's is good enough against the two hearts of Tina to scoop.

Tina Jordan is OUT in 4th place winning £8,830

so here's a biggie

Mark in the SB makes up with

Mehmet checks with

blinds are 6000-12000

flop

which is a huge hit for both players

Mark bets 20k, Mehmet calls

Turn

Mark bets 30k, Mehmet raises 30k, Mark Calls..both have top pair and a straight draw, Mehmet has clubs for back-up

the river is interesting

giving both trips

Mark checks (I suspect knowing Mehmet will bet, so he is trapping)

Mehmet bets 45k

Mark check raises all-in

Mehmet calls

and becomes monster chip leader with trip Jacks and the 8 kicker playing

Mark has under 200,000 left

Andrew proposed a deal in which they took £15k and played to the finish for the rest

Mehmet's response "I play on. Play. Play"

Tighty and I are now doing 5 minute stints in turns at the final table, it was 15 minutes, but we think staying out there longer than ten would cause a lethal dosage, and we daren't take that risk...

So in my 5 minutes....

Number of times Mark steals from the button: 2
Number of times Mehmet is given a walk: 1
Number of times Mehmet picks up pocket 8's: 2
Number of times Mark raises and Andrew wakes up and moves in: 1
Number of times  I overhear someone talking about the final and the words 'paint' and drying crop up: 3

A 3-way pot blinds 8k/16k. Andrew limps the button, Mark makes up and Mehmet checks.

Flop:

Mark bets out 16k into a 48k pot, Mehmet calls and Andrew passes.

Turn:

Mark checks. Mehmet bets 20k. Mark calls.

River:

They both check.

Mark shows , Mehmet has for the flush.

Big hand now, raised preflop to 60k by Georgiou has about 210k back, with Mehmet having the rest.

Flop:

Georgiou check calls Mehmet's 50k bet on the flow

Turn:

Again Georgiou check calls another 50k bet.

River:

They both check, Mehmet shows whilst Georgiou mucks his .

This left Georgiou with just 110k with 10k/20k blinds which he duly put in the next hand with and was duly called by Mehmet's ...

Board:

So Andrew Georgiou is our 2nd place finisher winning £18,600

Which means....

Mehmet tells me he has only played before in the Casino Cosmopol in Stockholm. Turkish by descent he has been living in Sweden for most of his adult life.

Whilst he is over in the UK visiting he decided to play a comp or two and alighted on this festival. He wanted to try poker in a different country because he " always plays against the same players and I wanted to see what it was like to play others"

He has never played online.

His quest to expand his poker horizons has clearly produced successful results!
