Good job!!!!

some skulduggery went on to deprive Greenwich!!!

the lords have sussed it out as usual Roll Eyes

ANYWHERE except Greenwich, ffs. Idlly, somewhere with a decent road & rail system. And NOT London.

seriously though, what do you think about the DLR, any good?

thery're extending it to woolwich, thamesmead and across the water in time for the olympics.

Ive found it to be very helpfull in buzzing around se london, but this is just the opinion of a novice.

Well Light Railways are not for the Rail Purists, but as Light Railways go, it's good. Services are very frequent, & the architecture of some of the Stations is innovative & interesting. The ride is very poor though, they have a quite sickening side-to-side "roll".

Fascinatingly, although they are "driverless", (no Driver, no Guard, all automated) the front windscreen has windscreen wipers!

I like to sit in the front seat & pretend to be the driver.

The Victoria Line, on the London Underground is also, technically, driver-less & fully automated, but the Unions insist that a Driver sits in the cab. I suppose he pretends to drive it, too.

Blackpool is dying. It will be RIP if they don't win the casino. ...

I think the problem with Blackpools bid was that this was pretty much the extent of their argument. My impression was that Manchester's bid was a well thought out argument of WHAT they were going to do, WHY they were going to do it and HOW they were going to achieve it, whereas Blackpools bid amounted to a plea saying, but we NEED it.

I don't know who put together Blackpools bid, but they're the ones to blame for Blackpool not being recommended to start with.

What a mess! Nothing demonstrates better that Central Government should never interfere with the laws of supply & demand.

Dead right Tikay. Government has no business deciding how many, how big and where they should be. It should be entirely a matter for the the consumers and the service providers.

The real shame now is everyone loses out.

Our "democratic" system is archaic. How can a bill passed by a majority of our elected representatives get stopped dead in it's tracks by a bunch of old cronies (sorry Tikay), who haven't been elected, and think they know what's best for everyone?

It is quite remarkable that we get a parlimentary vote on the size of a private companies casino, yet the invasion of Iraq dosnt warrant one?
