Last night was Jen's night off, though she ended up in the Orleans cardroom and started up a 1/2 PLO game where she ended up a fair sum rather comfortably. Tonight, after we'd covered the $5k final, the pair of us decided to go to the cardroom again where we found that there was already a waiting list for a 1/2 game. It's quickly set up and Jen buys in for $300 and I buy-in for $250.
The game gets going fairly quickly and it's not long before there are $4 straddles appearing as regularly as acne on a teenager's face. I raise up

to $7 and everyone calls including Jen who is sitting to my left.
Flop comes

, checked round to Jen who bets $30, one of the blinds call and the rest of us pass, the turn is the

and the small blind leads out now for about $80, Jen dwells a little and then calls. The river is a complete blank, the

I think it wa, not that it was going to matter... The small blind now moves in for $120 or so and Jen calls and shows

.
I mutter "Cardrack," under my breath and Jen builds up her chip stack, and she has already over the max buy-in ($500). Yep, within five minutes she had the table and anyone who joined covered.

Despite this she kept adding to her stack, though it was varying from the $400 to $700 range
I meanwhile, was having mixed success, I raise a couple of hands then get check/raised off both flops and have dropped down to just $150 or so, I then get

and see a multiway raised pot with a flop of

, Brian, the aggressive and good American player to my right bets out $30, I raise pot to leave around $20 behind and Jen behind me calls and everyone folds. The turn is the

and my last chips go in, Jen calls with

but I miss my flush and straight redraws and we chop the pot.
Afterwards, I drop a little back to just $130 or so, missing draws. I then min-raise

UTG, and aggressive and deepstacked Brian re-raises me to $12, I re-raise full pot and the small blind folds and Brian calls. The flop comes K-8-3 rainbow, he bets out $45 and I'm sure he would check K-K-x-x and check/raise me so I couldn't pass. Sure I'm ahead and that he has some random K-x-x-x hand which hasn't two paired yet, I move in. He calls very quickly with K-K-x-x and I'm left to get out another $200 from my wallet. I thought about what would've happened if I had raised fully preflop and Brian says he might have re-raised me anyway, in which case I'm going to lose that hand everytime.
I rebuy, whilst Jen wins a large amount of Brian's chips, putting her over $1000. She raises a pot after a couple of limpers, including me to something like $20. One guy, who has just arrived is incredulous, "How can you raise in Pot-Limit Omaha?"
He calls Jen's raise anyway. As do I with

.
The flop comes

and it gets checked to me, I bet $100, Jen and the others pass. Incredulous guy moves in and I call. He shows top set and I hit the

on the turn which is enough when the river doesn't pair. He walks away from the table saying, "This is such a stupid game."
At this point the stacks are getting progressively deeper and there's probably around $4000 on the table. The live straddle is quite common and most pots are multiway, thought many are raised. I limp in with

, and I'm back up to $450, so now am even and then the flop comes

, lady UTG with about $350 leads out for $50. I call, everyone else passes. The turn is the

, she now bets $100 and I put her in and she calls and shows

so it's looking like this $800 pot will be chopped until the

comes on the river. She whoops and shouts and I'm gutted by this unpleasant birthday present, and I go off to the toilet for five minutes, to calm myself down.
I come back and see I've got roughly $100 left, Jen offers to give me $300 to help get myself out of the hole, but I'm too proud (read: stupid) to accept any money from her. Brian, the aggressive player has moved seats to sit to Jen's left, as has another player since she's developing a reputation for betting anything that's checked to her. Her image is so bad that she pot bets an

board with 8-8-x-x for $45 and gets 4 callers, not one of which has a flush draw!

I finally pick up

and limp utg, Jen passes, Brian raises the pot and then four people call. I re-raise pot leaving myself with just about $20 left. Brian calls which send in a domino effect causing two other players to call. The flop comes

and I move in, Brian calls, another guys passes, then K-6 lady moves all-in behind him and Brian passes, she shows the

and I'm starting to get up from the table, planning to go to bed as the

hits the turn, until suddenly, the poker gods, having seen my earlier beat, bless me by sending the

on the river to house me up for a $350 pot.
In contrast to mine, Jen's stack keeps building and building, she hits a wrap with

against a set, getting him to pay-off on the river and then, in another, a guy with a set of jacks pays off her double belly buster with flush draw on the river when she makes the straight.
We hadn't really played as many hands against each other as earlier but finally I limp with

and then call a Jen button raise, K-6 woman also calls from early position.
Flop:

K-6 woman checks, I lead out, Jen calls and K-6 woman calls.
Turn:

K-6 woman checks again, I bet again and they both call
River:

K-6 woman checks, I bet once more, Jen passes her set and K-6 woman calls me with a worse flush, putting me 'up' for the night for the first time!
I play one more decent sized pot, limping in on the button with a skanky

, Jen raises from the small blind and everyone calls. Flop comes

, Jen bets $60, smartshirt guy, who spent a lot of time chatting on the phone and had already bluffed off his first buy-in, moves all-in for $91, I call and Jen passes. He says, I've have two pair, but I fill my house anyway with the

on the river. Jen gives me a slightly evil look for calling her raise with such filth.
At this point it's nearly 3am and we decide to leave and instantly the game breaks up. Somehow I'd managed to dig myself out of a $350 hole and ended up nearly $250, I thought that was a fair achievement except that Jen left with around $1,000 up and even gets called 'The Omaha God' by randoms at the Subway when we went to get a sandwich.

Guess we'll be going back there a couple of nights...
