Stack sizes are important.  If they're short I'm not calling.  If the big blind is likely to call, I'd call, $2.50 to be in a $12 pot is ok for me.

sorry, We all have atleast 100 big blinds or there abouts, its not much between us, there are no short stacks at the table and its been a bit weird, everyone changing from fast and agressive to slow and passive and anywhere in between

I probably call pre hoping to hit a monster flop and pass if I miss.  But this is a leak for me which I am trying to plug.

I think calling is pretty marginal, it would depend on my reads whether I thought the original raisor is like to stack off easy and whether im going to get more callers round the back as it were.

Also depends on your post flop ability to play if you catch some of the flop.

The blinds in this case were usually staying in for any reasonable raise on their big or small blinds, hence its been a bit of a weird table, not so much defending more of a call and hope from the blinds. or from these players in particular, however they had played some fast agressive hands and slow trapping hands and some milking hands etc.  Lots of varied play but when they have the BB and SB they seem sto stay in for any reasonable bet.  does that make sense?

I call raises with suited connectors if my opponents have big stacks. Your hand can be disguised on many boards and you can end up stacking them if they have an overpair. I also raise with them pre-flop, often in any position. I do this to simply remain aggressive and make it difficult for people to put me on hands.
