I think I know the answer to this already but here goes......

I have a new laptop and of course the old PC has been destroyed, is there any way that I can retrieve all my downloaded itunes songs as they were on the hard drive.

(It's all the wife's songs actually as mine are currently on the ipod!)

Bit vague on the details as I've never used the programs, but there are programs available that allow you transfer the tunes on your iPod back onto your PC (the guide on how to do this is HERE.

Obviously everything that was stored on the old PC HD is long gone, but if the tracks were downloaded via the iTunes store, you should be able to get them re-downloaded as you will already have a purchase history.
