River Spot, complete overbet?

Oppo is Russian, pretty competent but largely been quiet. Just taken a 100bb pot off me with JJ vs my 66 on a 22335 board. Surely I should be snapping this off everytime right?

yes, call.
Any point earlier I should be folding? Perhaps on turn? I cant beat any Ax or 7x and basically beating FD's and SD's.

yh i dont like the turn c/call that much you basically beat 56, 96 or 9T and you have two of the nines and i doubt he peels 56o out of the big all that often, he peels limited 8x's from the BB and he prolly peels the same number of 7x's which now beat us, I feel like he'd chk back the turn with an 8 quite a bit also, just seems like on the turn he'll have an ace quite a bit and a 7 some.
sure he'll bluff the turn with his straight draws and gutshots but given how we're struggling vs his range and OOP i dont mind getting bluffed in this spot every so often as folding can never be a bad play.
flop bet I like, river donk is fine and making it look like a "blocker vbet" - I really have no idea what line is optimal for the river, Alex Martin will post ITT soon as tell us but what you've done has worked nicely as played :p

Never ever not snapping here. I assume you lost, but this is just always always a call. He has worse boats here quite a lot. A7,78,79 all massively in his range here. No need for me to be working out the combos of these, but certainly more than AA/77 combos.

Yeah I lost, AA, he played it pretty well tbh.
Flats IP, Flats flop, bets 30%-ish on turn. The river shove is only good because I had 99 obvs.
Just at the time I thought the bet on the turn was suspicious, he made it nice and cheap for me to call. But once I boat the river its all going in anyway.

Would have thought that combos go out of the window here to a large extent, due to the big overbet, which is going to skew his range heavily towards AA/77, and within that actually towards 77.
Obviously there's very little that hero can call with here when villain does have 77 and shoves, as hero very rarely has AA/88/99, but I suspect all that proves given current reads is that villain isn't really bothering to hand-read. If that's true and he isn't considering hero's range, then he doesn't shove here with A7 or 78, as he doesn't have the nuts so is concerned he only gets called when beat.
Usual disclaimer though, I don't play much cash.

He plays it horribly and is lucky to cooler you. Pretty easy to stack 2nd nut boat with the nut boat but this is never an optimum line preflop @ NL50.

agree with all this - I still think it ludicrous to fold tho cos the Equity we lose when we get this fold wrong is horrible
