I've just read the latest instalment. I always enjoy Daves pieces, they are detailed enough to allow you to keep up with the action, but not so much that you lose the will to live

What I like best is the way Dave always adds the human touch that makes them into something all poker players can relate to, ie, 'Not feeling well' 'Strain on the bank roll' 'Which comp to play' even we mere mortals are faced with these problems, and we can relate to them

I also find subtle lessons in the text, little warnings and reminders of traps that even the best players can fall into

" Having looked at 92 off suit for hours on end, I fell in love with AQ of hearts"

"Play the rush', ?value' the voices inside my head screamed so I called 1.5 big blinds"

I don't Know Dave very well, I have shared a table with him on a couple of occasions and he comes accross as a quiet and modest man, Im sure he knows that he is a great poker player, but I bet he dosn't appreciate his writing skills as much as he should

I don't know DC very well either, but it was certainly an education to sit directly to his right for a few hours in a recent comp. He played certain hands very differently than I would have done (no surprise there then!), and unconventionally. In that, I think I learnt a lot.

I too enjoy reading his stuff. I suspect he will drive himself very hard in the remainder of the year to be atop the rankings come the year end now he is behind The Camel and Stuart Nash.

I suspect it hasn't been the best of poker playing times for him over the last few months. Equally I expect he'll be back on song soon.

I do enjoy the writing even if it is a chore. I especially like the fact that players seem to enjoy reading it. Thanks guys.

Tight End - from what I recall... you trapped me like a beginner and got me to shovel all my chips in when you were the 60% favourite.sending me up the M1 talking to myself... Errrr...I think I can smell something...I also remember some guy to your right bluffing me out of a mosnter pot prior to you putting me to the sword... that day probably typifies how I have just gone off the boil slighlty..the 2 mistakes in those 2 pots are the simple difference between winning & losing I think

the thing was Dave, the guy to my right was an unsuccessful Luton regular. Any other Luton regular when faced with his move would have called in a shot assuming they had part of the board that is.

I'm yet to meet Dave, although have played in the same comps as him.

Can we expect to see El Blondie at the Broadway next week?

Great read dave, I read everyones diaries and much prefer the players who can admit to making mistakes and also admit to feeling the pressure for results. You have to be a short priced favourite to win the rankings and its only a matter of time before another big result comes.

Well thanks for the support again.
I'm afraid I won't be at the Broadway next week, which is unfortunate as it is less than a mile from where I live. All the reports are that it is the best casino in england, but I havent been in myself.
