Previous winners have included a thesis on "Homosexual necrophilia in Mallard Ducks" (bet you never knew that!)
and Nottingham University's "Scrotal Asymmetry and classical sculptures" which sought to prove that Classical nude Sculptures were imperfect because of the tendency for men to, er, be asymmetrical ( or one lower than the other) down below. Classical male figures usually being carved to perfect symmetry.
This research was published in "Nature" magazine.
I will look tomorrow and see what won this year. It's a funny old world.
