But lets say im the only player on the table that takes the whole stack - then i can still gamble? cus i can only loose 5k anyway at the start.

Well say you take the lot and nobody else does you can still lose more than 5k just not in the first hand, you cannot if you dont take them all.
It's an interesting question though, i tend to just take the first lot myself.
