Dbn't forget, arrive EARLY. We have 220 registered, & we have to get everyone through Casino Registration first. Doors open at Noon, & the Comp starts at 2.30, we need you in your seats by 2.15 please.

If you are late, well, sorry, but your seat will be re-assigned, the Rules do not allow latecomers to take their seats after the comp starts. So please leave in plenty of time, & have a safe journey.

It will be a bit squished for the first hour or two, sorry about that, but it'll soon be comfy.

Enjoy, & Good Luck!

Just in - it looks like Grosvenor Cardiff have worked a miracle & got enough tables in for us to start with 10 to a table. Well dlone Grosvenor!

Please remember though, above all else, GET THERE EARLY. We finalise the seating draw & close the Reserve/Standby Lists at 2pm - not a minute later.

Thank you for asking James

APAT...the Amateur Poker Association and  Tour.....is the world's first combined poker association and Tour.. It is for recreational players, a subject which caused some debate when we launched in Aug 06.

To date APAT has held two events, the English and UK Amateur Poker Championships and tomorrow sees the thirs in the seven strong first season, the Welsh Amatuer Championships in Cardiff to which this thread refers.

Each event is designed to be affordable and introduce players to deep stack long clock events which are not normally available to them unless they go way up the buy-in scale

Tour sponsors, PokerStars.com add significant value into each event. Tomorrow's winner for example receives entry into the EPT Dortmund event  soon, together with a first prize of  4k and a trophy and a medal

APAT  itself has proved hugely popular with several thousand members, an Online series that attracts good numbers for each fortnighly event and with the Player of the Year, the points winner at the end of the live and online series winning entry to the WPT Caribbean Adventure the batle for  prizes is hotting up!

Our events have been acclaimed by both players, the sponsors and the trade press including coverage in Poker Europa, CardpLayer Europe and The Sun Online

The Association, sponsored by PokerPlayer Magazine is making progress in representing its members interests with  other industry stakeholders. For example we are making strides towards the standardiation of rules with the Grosvenor Cardiff  agreeing to run the competition tomorrow to APAT rules.

If you would like to know anything else about  this significant new development on the UK poker scene James, please do not hesistate to contact me.
