Do you measure them before you leg it from peoples houses?

I.e if its a 44" lcd its not worth the hassle?

depends on what you want it for? sounds obvious but if u want a bog standard tv for sky and hd then plasma is decent enough for your needs. If you want for blue ray and xbox/gaming LCD.

LCD more expensive but not much better quality for normal tv imo.

Impossible to help without stack sizes, blinds, info on the other players, etc.

I'm a noob to these tellies, but from what I read at the price I was looking to pay - at around the £800 mark - the plasmas deal with movement better (so if you're watching a lot of sport for example a plasma's good), but LCDs are better if you're in a bright room (with direct sunlight on the screen for example).

How much you looking to spend, what size, etc?

When I got mine (37" Panasonic), I had a look at a plasma and LCD version.  The plasma had much better colours, black in particular.
