Just finished playing an MTT

and a hand from earlier in the tournament had me baffled

blinds 15/30 and playing 9 handed

UTG raies to 200 (which I thought was a bizarre raise to make) he has about 1800 chips

A short stack moves all in for about 850 (Turned out he had 99)

Then the small blind dwells up for a good while before pushing all in for about 1700 (turned out he had JJ)

THEN the big blind instantly moves all in for about 1800 also (Turned out he had KK)

back to the intial rasier who calls and turns over pocket 4's !!   Grin

Of cousre he hits a 4 and knocks out two guys and leaves another with about 100 chips of so.

It is mind boggling sometimes the plays people make

Value call. I saw one of these recently. utg raised to 3 times bb. mid pos tight player reraised about 3 times pot, pretty much committing himself to pot (had qq). I had kk and went all in. sb was short stacked and went all in (had jj).
The initial raiser, who has seen 2 big reraises from 2 tight players and has committed 10% of his stack, proceeds to call with 77. It's not a bad beat story... He lost and gets koed, but then starts moaning in the chat box about shitty pokerstars software and how it's a joke... I suppose he could have been up against ak, ak , ak....

This is something you often see. When someone raises like that from UTG it is a scared raise, they don't want to get called... In this case don't know why he called the allins though, he was definately behind.....

Was it a $1 turbo??

fair enough the SB and BB have a case for thinking they have the best hand but after that action the 44 should know he is well behind .

was it a low stakes tourney ? cos sometimes you cant stop these muppet plays from players at a low level no matter how much you bet .
