i understand what you're saying alex, but if you jam and he snaps you with all the combos of overpairs then you would think booooom, standard I set this up all day, hallelujajajajajajajajaj.

i do hwoever agree with my friend ben about him having more spade combos than we perhaps expect.

Hmmmmmm.......

Nit perspective here... I would just call. I dont think i am getting paid by worse if i shove. I hate bet folding and bet calling would mostly mean i am losing to what he is betting with.

Interesting spot and hard to answer without being there inthe rhythm of the game

Thing is, if I'm beat and I jam - I'm basically out of the tournament. Maybe I didn't mention my stack size, I'd have ten bigs left and the average at this point was about 70.

I think raise/folding in theory is terrible but in live poker vs this particular villain you can make a really exploitable raise/fold because he's never going to exploit you.

No-one really seems to agree with me on this point in general, but I truly believe if I raise to 35k and he jams I'm beat 100%, whereas he'll vlikely call with worse because the price is so good. Also that way, I save about 40k on the river which is 32bigs and I'm still alive.

I did

I like the idea but you've said yourself you have a crazy image and have been caught bluffing.... I can't see anything other than a jam to be honest.

Would be gross if we're beat.... what do we think to a small river donk/ call???

we should check the majority of our range otr imo. we have a perceived bluffcatching range and if we start donking the top of it we open ourselves to get reallllly owned.
also, we're not really concerned about villain checking back hands he could call a bet - he bets them himself - so why would we cut his bluffing frequency, as low as it mite be?

Junior is abso right checking and calling would be absolutely fine in a live tournament imo.

I'm still parking in the checking and going all in carpark, but I'm pretty close to the check/call carpark as well, would take very little to persaude me to drive over, but staying here for now Smiley

Don't fancy the Checking/Raising/folding carpark, it's a multi-story and they always scare me.

Check/raise/fold>>>>>check/call>>>>check/raise/call

Of that I'm sure. If you were parked on my turf Dave, you'd be getting a parking fine.

Still not sure where check jamming comes though. Maybe it's single yellow line or just free parking between 9 and 6 on weekdays or something.

ICMwise, I just felt it was so awful for me to bust in a soft comp when I had an above average stack so shoving although in a cash game is the best play, maybe it'd be more prudent to not risk our whole stack in case we're beat and just flat / c/r small.
