I don't know if any of you have been to Clacton, but if UKIP are planning to stop people moving into that area then as far as I'm concerned they're doing the world a favour.

Been there a lot in last 12 months, tbh they are welcome to each other!

Ahhh the inevitable point in the thread where anyone that votes UKIP or wants tighter immigration must be thick   Roll Eyes we got here earlier than usual in these threads  Wink

Where did I say they were thick? Just find it ironic that in a town 97% white they are so up in arms about immigration. Plus the irony of "politicians do nothing" and then voting in the guy who has been your MP for last 9 years Smiley

Will this worrying trend force the UKIPT to change it's name?

People that vote UKIP or want tighter immigration are thick.

Glad to be of service.

If this by election was before the Scottish referendum then I have a feeling that the result of referendum would of been different

When we opened our language school in London in 2002, the world and his wife outside the EU could easily get student visas to enter the UK...and then stay and work.
Since then it has progressively got much more difficult to get these visas, to such an extent I can count on my hands the number of students we have atm from outside the EU.
However EU students have been aplenty. The vast majority are young, and keen to study and work. The Polish for example, came to us in vast numbers in the mid to late 2000's  ...working during the day, studying English in the evening. As we know, many of these have now they have settled here, and naturally have had families. Obviously this puts pressure on jobs, healthcare, schools. London for example needs to find 100,000+ more primary school places in the next couple of years.
In the last couple of years our Polish numbers have declined, and the Spanish have taken over. The poor economic climate in Spain means the majority of our students are now Spanish. Again almost all young , keen to study to improve their english  so they can find work.....and work they do!...because they need to live and pay school fees Wink

So the more immigration the better with my business head on.!.......not so sure it's so good with my other head.

Part of the problem with an immigration debate is there are far too many thickos who don't understand it to start with and like to blame Johnny Foreigner for everything because the Daily Mail says so.

Secondly, political parties use the whole debate as a vote winner and are neither consistent of ethical in their approach imho.

"British jobs for british workers" was a laboour slogan, well the BNP would have been proud of that one.

Regards the UKIP being another BNP, well in short no.  They are just a much more extreme version of the tories all for big business, tax cuts for the rich and bashing up the poor.  The BNP despite their racism were much more left than UKIP, some may argue more left than Labour used to be.
