just read tikays live tourament report on the $50 at notts.i really wish i was there it sounded funny.a few people spoke to me on monday night about this final and there were mixed comments as always, but with a final table like that,it was to be expected.the general feeling was that chilli played excellent and that says alot coming from a room where no-one likes to complement anyone else.
great report tikay. thumbs up

Hi Fran, how you doing?  I too thought it was an excellent report by tikay.  It is funny, that the last 3 times I have bugged tikay to join me at Notts he has gone home with at least a grand each time!  Who says women are bad for the bank balance?

It was an enjoyable comp and with numbers seeming to be creeping up a little, I for one am glad.  It is my local and a place where I have had grinded out my poker education over the years, and it is a place where I want to continue going.  VERY nice to hear Fran, that people can be complimented on their game, their are some good people in Nottingham!!

I enjoyed this comp in that after playing some bigger and scarier comps lately, I felt a new found freedom to not to worry about a placing nor wait for big cards.  As we all know, sometimes they just don't bless us.  So the last hand before the end of the re-buys, there has been a raise, re-raise and 2 callers, I look down and see 3 5 spades.  It looks good! Surely the raisers and callers have BIG cards so i chance it.  The flop comes A Q J ALL spades  Grin My 3 5 flush holds up and I go into the freezout section chipped up.  End up 7th, with tikay on my left with 3 tables left and then to my right on the final.  It takes a mighty effort from both of us to prove to certain people that we would gladly and frequently take each other out!  So we have a battle of the blinds EVERY round.  Well done Tikay though, I thought he played awesome in the final and thouroughly deserved his placing.  Now, about heads up!  If you want any lessons, you only have to ask!  Cool

Fran - I have a Blondepoker hoodie for you if you are intersted?  I'll bring it with me next time I go, which I think will be Sunday.

You can and will only improve playing in Nottingham.  I think there are a lot of tough cookies there who have been playing for eons and make their living in Notts.  I think the next step above from playing there is not that huge.  I envisaged playing in bigger comps to be a lot tougher than what i am used to but its not really.  I feel i get more respect because they don't know my game, and you can get more moves through because at Notts any moves you make get called anyway.

I haven't seen your game yet Fran, but i look forward to us sharing (and commanding) a table soon.  See you Sunday then.

Yes, the battle of the Blinds 'tween Maria & I raged the whole night, we seemed ro be sat next to each other for hours. And yes, "mutterings" that we might slow-play each other were heard. Truth to tell, I would have busted out in 7th if my K-5 (SB) had not got very lucky against Maria's AK (BB), but that's the luck pf poker.

Play hard, play fair. And bust the girlies.
