They are talking to someone to replace Alan Curbishley

He ruined my club (to be fair anyone following O'Neill would have struggled)...£5.5m for Akinbiyi for one and tactical naivete galore

He has done nothing at Hull in the Championship despire £ backing which gave him players good enough to easily gain promotion out of the lesser leagues

His reputation is based off England U21s when he had a superb group of players.

His name....Peter Taylor

Get on Charlton to be relegated pronto!!!

Yeah it does seem strange I would personally be against him joining Charlton. Don't think he offers anything up for the club to progress forward.

He has got two promotions in three (4?) years with Hull... keeping them in that division this year was success for the club - Sustainable growth.

He has done a great job with Hull... I hope he doesnt go to Charlton, leaving Hull with every chance of making the play offs in the next couple of years.

with the financial backing he was given by Hull's new owners he should have been expected to get them to the Championship

They have absolutely no chance of progressing any further. Saw them this year, one of the worst teams I saw.

Hull aren't exactly a Chelsea...
He has acheived what was expected then?! He certainly hasnt spent enough to be in the PL.

There are only ever four or five clubs in that division who are capable of progressing (usually only short term)... look how many years Sheff United have been on the boarder and Wolves for another....

Agreed, Taylor is a good manager.

yes I don't disagree with you on either point..merely he did have the finances in Divs 1 and 2 that it would have been failure if he hadn't reached the point they reached now

I accept some bias in my views, but I am amazed he has another opportunity to manage in the premier league

TBH he suprised me being linked with that job... i think he has his level now and if he ever did get them up then he would deserve a shot at the PL.

I say fair play to Charlton for not going for an expensive over rated foriegner like alot of clubs of their size have done in the past.

Another british premiership manager can only be a good thing.

I agree but there are about 10 unproven "high-potential" other managers to choose from who haven't had their shot yet.

I think you shouldn't rush a manager into the job. I'n my mind, without doubt, Taylor will fail, cos he doesn't have what it takes at the highest level.
