Mad

When you make your offer, ALWAYS make the offer in person WITH the cash.

You will be suprised how "seeing" the money changes people's minds on how much they will take for a car.

Don't risk losing this car over a couple of hundred quid (you do use £'s in Scotland, don't ya? Wink )

laz

what would you pay? i need to get back to the woman today

cheers

mad

I would still be wanting to offer 5.5K, but take 5.7K with me, so you have some room for negotiating.

Nemisis, the book price I am quoting does take into account the mileage - one lady owner is largely irrelevant, because as soon as you buy it, it has now had two owners. The overall condition of the vehicle and service history is important, and the book price I am quoting is based on excellent condition and Full dealer SH.

Main dealer F/S/H is very important.

What is the name of the book you use Laza?

You've done loads of homework, got good advice so the final discussion is around a few hundred pounds.

In my experience, in all purchases I ever made, homework done, I was always prepared to pay a little over the price to make sure I got the thing I really wanted - I've never regretted one of those decisions but would a hated to spend my life missing out for the sake of a few quid.

I'm old so worth listening to :-)

Big Laz is quite the negotiater.....

when the taxi driver tried to charge me 40 notes

Driver : "that will be 40 pounds please sir"
Me : "I dont f*ckn think so"
Driver : "Ok, we'll make it 30"
Me : " You're new to this haggling game, eh ? Look, here's a score, and I'll promise not to slap you about - is that a fair deal ?"
Driver : "No problem sir"
