Saw Ben Roberts in the Vic earlier and he came 3rd for 50k. Can't remember who came 2nd and first but apparently it was a swede/norwegian for 2nd.
Shame Ben didn't win it!!

Top bloke and a nice $750k in his pocket. Iwan for those of you haven't met him has only been playing for 2 1/2years, I played with him when he very first started at Swansea and he will freely admit he was hopeless (as we all are when we start). 12 months later he came to Blackpool for the festival and cashed big in 3 out of the 4 events. Last September he again cashed in several of the events and I dealt to him most afternoons in the cash game ( I was skint) and he just couldn't play enough poker. He was even watching the cash table while he was in one of the finals playing for a 15k first prize and spotted how soft the game was- I told him from the rail to ignore the cash game and concentrate and he promptly stuck his hand in his pocket, pulled a few hundred out and told me to go win him some money on the soft game...A couple of hours and some nice profit later we chopped the winnings. He went deep in the festival again in may then was very unlucky in the world series main event getting hit by a ridiculous cold deck. The players who come to Blackpool and do well tend to go on to bigger things (Thewy in same events as Iwan, Gosney, burnley party boys). You should all get up for next months festival, its where the stars are born.
Incidentaly after their multiple wins I tipped both Yoyo and Iwan for a big win (on a different almost defunct forum now) and both have done the business, time for the next ariston tip (hope I dont bok you mate)- Atit will win a big event within the next 12 months and give up that daft student malarky to concentrate on what he does best, poker.
