Sometimes you have to suffer a little bit in your youth to motivate yourself to succeed in later life. Do you think if Bill Gates got laid in high school, do you think there'd be a Microsoft? Of course not.

Yeah, obviously a danger in a game of perfect information... Although you'd think the sites could detect them quite easily Maybe they don't have the computational resources to do that though?

If you are serious about the game...done mind 'ye olde worlde' graphics and dont want to play for money a lot of club players practice on FIBS (First Internet Backgammon Server). Its fiddly and reminds you of pre XP days but the standard of play is imho far better than anywhere else. Search for Backgammon and fibs or for Javafibs on google. There are other programs that link to the server but Javafibs is the one i use. Give it a try and gl. (If anyone gets on the system and wants a game let me know

I'll have to get on FIBS and give some of you a game sometime, at the minute i'm just playing a few games on ladbrokes and practicing against GnuBG. Just finished a great game now, my position was hopeless and i was just waiting to be doubled out of the game (cube was centered and jacoby was in effect so no gammons etc). For some reason my opponent decided against doubling me until i'd clawed my way back to a viable position in the game (he does that a lot, bless him!). My strategy paid off and I won and I could him calling me a lucky bastard from here
