ok since this is the thread to ask.....

i have a Lappie with Mobile Centrino (so its wireless enabled) and i subscribe to Tiscali (2MB)....can anyone recommend a good wireless router to accomodate my Lappie and service provider?

Sorry im Dense?

I would recommend a Belkin router.

can you get them from any PC retailer?.....what price we looking at?

Sorry for late reply Dewi but been playing and building/setting up a pc for someone at same time.

You can get a LAN card to fit into a PCMIA slot, this normally refers to a WIRED connection to the router, ie, a cable plugs into back of router then into the LAN  card.

However, you can also get a WIRLESS LAN card to slap into a PCMIA slot, this connects to the router with no wires what so ever via the medium of radio waves.

They are two distinct and seperate LAN cards.

I'm still not quite clear as to whether you are setting up a WIRED or WIRELESS network, or what exactly you mean by already having a "dongle" in your possesion.

Just check to make sure it is wireless first though, "wireless enabled" does not necessarily mean it actually is believe it or not.
Go onto the makers website and check the model.
I had this with my toshiba and again with the samsung i use now, both were supposedly wireless (even have stickers on them and the software preinstalled) but neither are.
