True Rio sometimes makes you want to put a rocket up his ass at times with his apparent stoned relaxed appearance.
However, you'd have done very well to find more than 3 errors from him in the whole world cup, i thought he was superb.

Gerrard and Lampard were bitterly disappointing for me. Lampard especially, his performances have to be the worst i have seen from an apparent world class player. He reminded me of a nervous kitten throughout.

Sven has been taking a lot of stick (some correctly so), however there are few men who would not have had Lampard and Gerrard in their line up. The fact they delivered very little is not his fault. Play a world class player out of position and he should still seem world class, there really is no excuse for their poor perfomances.

Owen Hargreaves was outstanding, a true soldier with incredible stamina. Its no coincidence that he plays in Germany and as such if he had played in the German team, he would not have seemed out of place. Our society, our make up and our culture put us behind so many teams, before we have even started.

World class players don't miss parties, even on bad days they do things that others never could. Brazilian Ronaldo would be a classic example, some 8lbs overweight having lost 5lbs already to get to that level. He was lazy, he is overpaid and what i would call a very average World Cup for him, he still got his fill of goals. Ronaldo, Figo, Henry, Zidane etc. have all contributed to the world cup, whether that be as their last dance or not. World class does not leave players, that useless overpaid midfield flop Lampard isn't in this bracket and on the last 5 games, he's not even near.

Good to see Cole getting back to form also.

Carrick was pleasing too, nearly every pass forward and meaning something, instead of hopeful 45 yard cross field passes to get the cameras attention.

It is wiser to let people think you are a fool, than open open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Nem as usual is as close to the mark as any of us can get.

The one player who i think deserves more credit though is Joe Cole, i think he was by far and away Englands best player. If you offered the 4 remaining teams to chose an England player to add to thier squad i think with the exception of J. Cole they would says thanks but no thanks!

Out of the five games in the world cup, England had 4 clean sheets, so none of the back five have done much wrong.
Midfield did ok without excelling, but clearly not enough goals.
I did wonder today had we had a fit Michael Owen available what the outcome would have been?
