I must admit to having a bit of a soft spot for Leeds United.During School and my teen years ,my best mate was a Leeds supporter (Fav player Arthur Graham) so i often accompanied him to watch them play.Although they had a reputation as a dirty side during these years, they could also play some great football. My question to you Leeds supporters....who would be in your Greatest Ever Leeds Team (1970-Present day).
my selection...
Keeper Nigel Martyn
Right Back Paul Reaney
Left Back Terry Cooper
Centre Backs Jack Charlton / Norman Hunter
Midfield Gary McAllister / Billy Bremner / Peter Lorimer / Eric Cantona
Strikers Allan Clarke / Joe Jordan

It would be unfair of me to do one as they are out of my lifetime and i never got to see most of them play.
But from the videos iv seen and things i have heard:
I think you would have to include
Eddie Gray
tho for definite in midfield.
Paul Madeley and Gary Sprake would challenge too.
In my lifetime itd probs be:
Nigel Martyn
Mel Sterland
Tony Dorigo
Jonothan Woodgate
Lucas Radebe
Gary Mcallister
David Batty
Gary Speed
Gordon Strachan/Harry Kewell
Tony Yeboah
Mark Viduka/Lee Champman
but is very much up for debate.

Yes it is mostly dependant on which era you actually watched them as that influences choices more than viewings of clips from past decades. As with all "Greatest Ever Teams" they are entirely subjective, just thought it would be interesting to see what selections people come up with and if there are any "stand out " names.
Thanks for your selections, some very good players there.

Leeds won the last-ever league title before the creation of the FA Premier League,
with Chapman as the Division One top scorer in all competitions.

So they might get some of the points back. That would be ludicrous though. That's like saying the points penalty was sort-of wrong. Surely it has to be all or nothing?
Definetly. Abs no point getting like 5 back. As you say, its either right or wrong, so should get 15 or 0 back.
Its fun that we've been deducted 25 points over the last year tho for going into Admin when every1 else just gets 10.
ChipPrince, last i saw it was 4/5 for 0. And summat like 11/4 for 15. With prices also for 1-5 and 6-10.
We wont get them back obv.
Hold on, rightly or wrongly you were deducted 10 points last season and then 15 points this season for your second'offence' inside 6 months. The 'we got 25 points when everyone else gets 10' is wrong. You got 25 points for 2 seperate cases.

If you talking about Leeds best ever player then you have to seriously look at John Charles. He would play equally well in both center back or forward positions depending on what the team needed. My Dad tells me of matches he would start upfront and score a few goals and then in the 2nd half go back in defense to see us through the game. He went to Juventus and was worshiped like a God, one of the very few to this day British players that has gone abroad/Italy and done well.
Saying that the best players I watched 86-Present defiantly has to be when we got promoted and won the league the year after. Our midfield was the best in the land: Macca, Batty, Speed, Strachan.

Platini stated just after John Charles' death that if he were playing today he would be worth in excess of £70millon...

Leeds United were deducted the obligatory 10 points at the end of last season for going into administration, we have no issue with that and accept that fully.
We were deducted 15 points for failing to exit administration with an Company voluntary agreement (CVA), as a result of a challenge by the Inland revenue to how much they would recieve. They had 28 days to appeal the CVA and chose to do this within the last half an hour of the final day of the 28.
The Inland revenue stood to recieve more from Leeds proposal then they had from any other team that had entered administration. The football league, who stood to regain ALL money owed, also rejected the CVA.
So on it dragged, with Leeds fans and staff not knowing from one minute to the next whether we would have a club or not. Throughout this time, we were also placed under a transfer embargo which meant we could not sign players....and the players we did have on trial werent sure if the were going to be offered contracts or not, but still remained committed to playing friendlies.
At the last minute...days before the season started, it was announced that as Leeds had had one CVA rejected, they could not acquire another. The Football league were not helpful at all in this matter. They "Preffered" Clubs in administration to exit it with a CVA in place, however there was no rule in place that said this had to happen.
The Football league, as a result, decided that Leeds could have the Golden share, required to be able to participate in League duties and to allow transfers, but only because of the exceptional circumstances involved. They deducted us 15 points for breaking a so called rule that did not exist.

You dont get deducted 10 points with the proviso that if you do it again you dont get another fine. This is what you did and were fined another 10 points for failing to provide the correct financial assurances. 10 pionts for the first offence and 10 points again for the second offence, the only real issue is can the FA then add another 5 points on top of that for (as they see it) attempting to flaunt the rules. So it would be ridiculous to now say that we are giving to whole 15 points back when you have effectively been in 'administration' at some point this season. Thats what happens to every club that breaks those rules.
It would be amazing if you got anything other than the added 5 points back and as there is quite rightly some question as the legality of taking those extra 5 points that would seem to be a possibilty.
