I have just one of the WORSE night poker for a long time, bad beats like you wouldnt believe and tribeca rubbing my nose in the smelly stuff.

I should have shut the pc down when in a 5 ex blonde game my middle pp v A? and mateyboy (Scott) hit A quads lol

Anyway every game was the same, no matter what hand i was beaten by a lesser hand.

We have all gone through this and the winners come through the other end and dont TILT.

The thing is we dont actually reconize at the time IS that we are on tilt which is the killer, I knew i was getting outdrawn and was getting madder by the minute but thinking to myself "its not your bad play, dont TILT"

So here is the last hand i played, on a 6 table cash, its my 3rd reload coz there were 2 dreadful fish on there who had cleaned me out and i was to be honest totally pssd off.

I have looked at this hand and I cant decide if I played it badly or not so advice would be appreciated

PeTAKid has an inside straight draw and 2 over cards, personally i wouldnt have touched it with a barge poll but was he right to play it.

I have now read it several times and can see he was pot commited so forget that last bit.

Thank god im going on hols next week...comments appreciated on the first hand please.

Hi Suzanne,

When you ask if you are on tilt or not, do you mean that you think hands like this are putting you on tilt and you are not playing well other times as a result, or are you asking if your playing of these hands looks like a player on tilt?   I guess only you can say what affect they are having on your subsequent play, but I would take comfort in the fact that you have played well and got unlucky - you want those calls any day of the week!

Every game I've played on Blonde over the past week or so I have been involved (both ways) and witnessed what seems to be an unprecedented number of bad beats and out-draws. I'm hoping that, due to the randomness of the cards, this will be followed by a spell of the best hand holding up!

I'm on tilt at the moment cause by boredom I think.  I played a few games last night not because I particularly fancied playing poker just out of habit, and I just couldn't be bothered to play well!  So I'm going to take a couple of nights off and come back playing to win again!

good luck!

why are you playing Heads up NL cash? You need to be playing a full table, perhaps you have just deleted the unneccesary details on the hand analysis. Looking again, no Mr Seagull is sb and dealer. Why play HU...play a full table where you have time to relax between hands and don't get carried along with it...the more players you have the lower variance you have

Why are you reraising with a low pocket pair? Keep the pot small unless you hit in cash. Don't put yourself in awkward situations.

why do you get married to your hand with an Ace on the flop?

why are you pushing on the turn on a board with an overcard and a flush out?

This sounds overly critical, but I am just saying it as I see it

My advice on tilt, and that dreadful feeling where you can sense yourself losing it..is not to keep pulling up and thinking the poker gods are against you but to switch off, go and do something else or go to bed...whatever....and only return when your emotional centre of gravity has returned to its normal position

and my one piece of advice, seen from watching you play..is please stop getting married to marginal hands like low pocket pairs and A8 off in cash...calling raises with A8 off will cost you money over the long run.

If its going wrong don't chase it, tighten up and value bet!

you can give me a slap at bb3....sorry

right I've had a proper read of your post and the hands now!  To be honest, I only skimmed earlier and didn't realise it was cash and only looked at the post flop play!  First off, I am shite at cash and have never played anything over 10c/25c so my advice might be way out there!

With that first hand I don't think the re-raise with the pp is unreasonable heads up, but personally I would just call.  Given that your opponent had raised pre-flop and called your re-raise there is a fair chance he has an ace, and I would be checking folding post flop in a cash game - likewise on the turn.

In the second hand, I personally don't think I'd be calling the raise from the small blind.  Post flop, I'd have led out with a larger bet and tried to take the pot there.  I am sure that is not the correct way to play there though!

As I said before, only you can really know if you are going on tilt!  If you really think you are I'd suggest taking a break.

Thank you Tighty and Claw for your advise and I will try to explain my actions a bit better.

I shall try to explain the second hand first.

I had been sat at this table for about an hour and played very tight waiting for monster hands and both times had went allin and had been outdrawn, ok that happens but it was one of those tables that people were sitting down and either losing allin and leaving or doubling up and leaving.

There was a lot of reraising the blinds and folding going on especially by petakid, i was more worried about Tightas but thought I might as well see the flop. So I hit top pair, not a great hand but my intentions were to go allin but rebel beat me to it, my initial thoughts were hes not letting go of his BB but hes hopefully got AQ AJ and not a higher pp in which case im still ahead, I didnt think he would have called a raise with 96 or 64 so the only thing im worried about is the flush draw and him hitting his rag, I was pretty sure petakid didnt have much and the fact that he won is irrelevent really apart from the fact that it was idiots like this that were winning and perhaps that is why I didnt put the hand down preflop.

So was my line of thinking correct?

Shortly after that hand there was a 4 way allin, 3 knocked out and mateyboy who won left with a very big grin on his face.

So there is only me and seagull left so that is why I was playing HU (figured I needed the practise lol)

This hand I know I played all wrong, I should have just called.

My bet after the flop was representing an Ace  and his call confused me a bit. Surely he would pushed allin if he had hit so I thought I just might be ahead. The flush did worry me as I only had a 6 so I shoved the rest of my chips in and crossed my fingers LOL.

The reason for asking if I was playing on tilt is because normally I would NOT have played these hands but the play was so loose it was unreal. After all i was ahead on both occasions preflop  Cheesy

I think you've probably answered your own question there Suzanne - if you know you would not usually play these hands.  Probably down to boredom if you've not been getting many hands.

On the second hand, if you wanted to get all your chips in, why not after you were raised on the flop?
