This is without doubt the saddest post I have ever had to make on a forum.

I have just been informed of the passing in the early hours of this morning of NECS 2006 Champion Mark Williams. This week he had been planning his trip to Dublin for the ICHUC 4Nations as part of the England team. He was a true NECS Champion. The last photo he had taken was when he won the NECS and his friends have requested a copy for mounting in a memorial - a picture of him doing something he enjoyed so much.

Mark was just 22 years of age.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

OMG what tragic news.

I never spoke to the lad but watched him play on the final table, his delight at winning was there for all to see.

My thoughts are with his family and friends.

Very somber news, thoughts out to his family and friends. I was dealing at this event and was on the same table as mark at some point.

such a tragic loss, the same age as me, really puts things into perspective

Terrible news, I personally spoke to Mark after his victory and explained his entry into the ICHUC event and he was so excited .... He and his pals stayed in the casino and joined in the post comp get together and drinking session, and made friends with everyone there.

So very tragic that someone so young is lost to this world.

I will certainly be thinking of Mark when the event takes place, And so will everyone else who met him.

My sincere condolances to all Marks family and friends.

I was stunned to hear this news. Like some of you I was played or should I say outplayed by Mark and I came away thinking that he had something to his game. Really is tragic news.
It may not provide much comfort to his family, but to come away from the charity event as champion is something that I hope they take pride in.

Shocking news, I never spoke to Mark at the event but his pride and excitement at winning the event was clear for all to see. My thoughts go to his family and friends.

This is just awful.

It's always a tragic loss when someone dies, but when they were as young as this, there are no words.

I can't imagine what it must be like for his family right now.
