Been here 5 minutes and I'm already being mocked, jeered and bullied.

Tony Chessa and JP are mocking my pink shoes.

Coming from the Ribena!

He says he's worried about me whilst JP asked if I'd looked in the mirror recently.

In fact, so as to get properly attired (no trainers!) our Duo have gone to their Hotel first, they just texted me to say they had arrived there (6.20pm UK).

... if only we'd known it was so you could get your pink shoes!?

Two words from Nick Gibson -- "Mad table!"

My bad - Rory Matthews is NOT present, although his twin is.

Ram seems to be lingering, so I wouldn't be suprised if he was part of the batch currently on din dins.

We thought the field looked a little small, and it's because half of them are on a dinner break right now, with the other half swapping over in a few minutes.  So here are some stories from Half One:

Mainly Nottingham Nick Gibson has been involved in a bit of controversy - as he says, when I ask him if he has any tales, "Yes, two awesome ones!"

In level two he bluffed all in for his last 4k on the river with a missed flush draw (the pot was a tasty size).  His opponent, who'd actually been on just middle pair until he two-paired the river, called.  Gwibbo showed King high - his opponent mucked his hand!
Then, as the table gave each other funny looks, opponent took his hand back and called the floor for a ruling - harsh but fair, Nick took that pot down.

A little later, a bizarre dealer move gave all the chips at the end of a big pot (stacks included) to Nick's losing two pair (the Other Guy had a straight).  More floor calling confusion, and Nick's down to 3,600.  But still in.  Amazingly.

I passed Julian Thew when on the button, and involved in a hand.  The board stood at Two Clubs .  His one Matey had checked to him; he bet 1,400 into the 2,600 pot.  After a good think, Matey moved in for his short stack (can't have been more than 2kish).  Julian called with his .
Matey showed - it was good, Julian's down to under 8k...

Well, so much for getting here early. At least I bumped into Jen and Snoopy in the airport, so it wasn't too lonely waiting an extra 4 hours for the flight.

As we landed I got a text from JP to tell me he had 4,750 chips. By the time I arrived at the casino and found JP, he was all in.

Team Hink's Sebastian had raised from mid position to 600, with the blinds at 100/200. The guy to his left had flat called and JP, in his first event as a Blue Square sponsored player, had moved all in.

I waited nervously while Sebastian thought momentarily then called. The guy who limped the initial raise passed and JP turned over

Sebastian flipped

The flop was  Two Diamonds

My heart started beating faster. Had I just endured a 5 hour delay on the flight in order to get here just in time to see JP's exit? Well, no, as he has Sebastian covered, but only just.

The  on the turn was a relief and the harmless  on the river meant that I had actually arrived just in time to see JP double up!

He goes in his dinner break soon, so we're off for some chinese and a catch up on how things are going.
