Blue Square sponsorship freeroll winner Bernie 'sandino' Stoddart.

He won BSQ's April sponsorship freeroll, finished 2nd in the Paris €750 event that he played in as part of it and as a result won two further months sponsorship. This is his 3rd outing in Blue Square colours.

Although Luske rose back up to 820 after hitting a straight on an 8-7-4-4-J board (Mateyboy had K-4), it looks as though he may finally be OUT, as he is currently undertaking an interview in the press room.

Willie Tann has just over 10k and, althogh he reckons his table is pretty solid, there is one guy across the way who 'Is playing every hand'.

Willie believes this chap will soon dump his chips, hopefully to him. A few hands ago Willie made a straight against him and checked both the Turn and River but, to Willie's dismay, Crazyboy failed to bet.

Next time, Gadget!...

Okay, managed to grab a hold of Luske's exit hand.

Bit of a bizarre one really.

Although he'd lost some chip previously when his trips were outkicked, this hand took him down to just 400:

Mateyboy & Luske checked a K-9-9-x-x board down to the River, where Mateyboy bet, Luske raised, MB re-raised and Luske called.

Luske had turned a flush, but MB had flopped Quad Nines.

Henrik Olander, who caught the Updater's attention in Dublin last year, and is undoubtedly one of the strongest young players, just lost a pot of over 14k, leaving him with 6,500 after a promising start.  I actually saw this hand all the way through, which is a miracle as the press seem to multiply daily, and quite a few bold lurkers are crowding the tiny gangways between the tables too.

So - Henrik on the button sees a flop of with the small blind Matey.  Matey checks, Henrik bets 175, and is raised to 300.  Call.
Turn:  three clubs.  Check; Henrik bets 350, and another min-raise to 700 from sb-Matey.
River:  .  Now small blind bets out 2k, about a third of his stack.  Henrik thinks for a minute (probably about the development of the paired board) before pushing all-in.  Small blind Matey calls in a flash with his , and Henrik shows the bare before mucking his hand and accepting the loss, without reaction.

Nun; Karabiner - always a pleasure...

Just watched one of those big circles of gawkers surround a table conveniently located right in the middle of the floor as a big ruling is called for from TK himself:

It's the river - the board lies and there's a bet and a raise from Gary Jones.  The Spanish guy who made the initial river bet for some reason has exposed his hand:  .  Now Gary gets very agitated, talking about his hand being 'over the line' and calling Thomas over for a ruling after two other floor people failed to calm the situation.  Thomas rules (fairly, in my opinion) that the hand-exposer can only call, and will subsequently get a 10 minute penalty.  That isn't accepted very happily by Gary, who insists Kremser's wrong and is obviously not happy about being called and subsequently losing both the pot and the plot, a little.

Thomas says, "the line is not a line for the cards" - it seems unless they touch the muck, they're not strictly dead.  So there you go, potential hand exposers.

Sverre Sundbo, who many of you may remember from London a while back, is currently on around 8k.

He made a tricky laydown a few hands back though.

MB raised from early position, two callers, including Sverre who had A-K in the BB.

Sverre checks the K-7-4 Flop, MB (not the initial raiser) bet 500 and Sverre made it 1,400. MB called.

Sverre then bet 2,000 on the Jack Turn, but MB made it 5,000.

Sverre thought and though before finally letting his hand go.

"Do you think he had a set?" I asked
"Well, he played it like a set, but the problem is that he plays all his hands like a set," replied Sverre.
