Following a flurry of limpers, Vicki Coren raises to 1.2k preflop from the cut-off and receives two callers in John Hewston and Mateyboy.

After they both check, Vicki bets 1.8k on a Flop and takes it down.

See! Women CAN play...

Julian Gardner is OUT.

Hewston raised preflop with Tens, Gardner moved all-in with A-K, Hewston called.

No help for Julian.

This is the tiny stack of one Mr Joe Grech.

Last time I took a snap of his stack was at the middling stages of the Broadway Festival several month ago. He then went on to win the Event, climaxed in a rather entertaining heads up encounter with Paul Jackson.

If he wins this one, then I may become his lucky charm and surely will be obliged (and paid) to take a photo of his stack at every comp he enters.

In fact, he said that if he won this one he'd put me into the World Series Main Event. He sounded quite serious.

I like to remain partial, but..........

Gooooooooooooooooooooooooo Joe!

Marc Goodwin is OUT

A-3 vs A-Q all-in pre-flop.

Both players hit an Ace on the Turn, but it wasn't enough for Mr Cool.

John Gale is OUT,

He re-raised a button raise from the small blind and pushed all in on a  flop with errrrr........... three clubs

The button had which was good enough and held up.

Following on from JP's exit, there was an earlier hand that really crippled him, when a serial raiser from the cut-off raised again, JP made it 4k from the small blind with AQ, but the cut-off pushed for another 2k which JP had to call despite fearing the worst and was shown AK. An Ace came on the flop too, so even a flat call of the initial raise would probably have ended up with all the chips in the pot.

Sverre Sundbo is OUT

I knew it was a bad beat as soon as he took a deep breath.

With 23k behind him, Sverre raised pre-flop with A-K, only for Mateyboy (who I am told was a Brit) to move all-in for 40k.

Sundbo called, only for Brittboy (I've never had to use that term before) to reveal A-J and spike a Jack on the Turn after a harmless 2-2-4 Flop.

Crikey!

I had lots of sympathy for Sverre until he jokingly said, "I'm not going to get upset because we know these British players makes these kind of poor plays..."  talktothehand

Just as I counted his stack, the rather selfish  Cheesy American player, Tyler Netter, decided that he'd mess up my chip-count by doing something silly like doubling up.

Flop =

Netter =

Mateyboy =

Turn =

River =

And what has caused Rolf Slotbloom to rename me 'Scoopy', I come bearing breaking news:

WSOP 2005 Champ, Joe Hachem, is OUT.

In his own words...

"I made a move and it back-fired. I raised pre-flop with A-9, another guy re-raised and I pushed all-in, thinking that if he has A-K or A-Q he'll fold, but he called with A-K and that was that."

Surinder Sunar is OUT.

I asked Martin if he knew the hand, but Mr Green answered, "I can't remember the last hand I played, nevermind Surinder's"  Cheesy

Wow, fabulous stories.  Me hearties.  I am not going to stop speaking like a pirate just because the National Week is over...

It's great fun to read this thing - will miss the homeside tension when back in the Press room in Baden (to which, incidentally, NoFlopsHomer is coming, having done such a mouthwatering job so far...).

Just wanted to say- I am clearly needed no longer and for that,

Oh, and
