Well done James.  Just remember that you are NOT giving up anything and you should stay right mate.

Thanks for all your well wishes.  Gonna curtail the food thing today, cured it this morning by not waking up till 1pm  Cheesy.  Tonight is a mother of all temptations.  I am working for my bro tonight in his chippy so he can spend time with his kids.  Lets see how many chips, sausages, fish or pies I can avoid.  Still not a bad problem to have eh KEV?

If this is a reference to her new Avatar, I asked her the same question this morning.

I assume you all know who it is?........

I hope that this is not significant but I saw a guy who's allegedly given up both online poker and smoking tonight.

He was playing a tourney on stars.....

Well, yesterdays test of 6 hours driving was successfully dealt with, it was not even a problem. And whilst doing the  shows, the normal "ciggie breaks" were no temptation.

I have developed a bit of a sore chest, & Chili was telling me this morning she has the same symptoms. Not sure if this has been caused by over-smoking, or is the beginning of the chest cleaning itself up. The former, I assume, a bit early for the latter.

Well, thats 3 and a haf days - half a week! - & it's been easy peasy so far. I'm sure a bad day is lurking around the corner. I have a very important meeting tomorrow (Friday) in London, lets see how I cope with that. Chili has been brilliant - she chivvies me along if I waver, and I'm sure she's done with smoking for ever.

OK, I need food........

Good stuff tk. You actually forget about ciggy breaks very quickly.

The sore chest is your body recovering from years of abuse, it happens to most people who quit smoking. It'll take a wee while to clear, I still have a chesty cough, but it's getting better every day. Fewer and further between. Each time I cough it reminds me of another reason why I quit smoking, and makes me smile because I know I've halted the damage. Smiley At least we are lucky enough to have a body that's still got the ability to recover.

Question(s) for you. Do you feel like you are going to have a bad day? Do you feel like you are never going to smoke again? If you realise that you are never going to smoke again, why would you have a bad day? It's a fantastic feeling. You won't have a bad day, not through stopping smoking anyway. Not if you remind yourself of how great it is to be a non-smoker! Sure, you'll have days where things don't go well, but its never because you don't have a cigarette.

You seem to be nailing this! I'm glad you didn't choose to try and quit by forcing yourself to look at cigarettes all the time.

Glad to hear it James, although I was sat at the same table as IM Sofa King in a stars MTT last night.

I wondered why you didn't say hello, probably because it wasn't you I guess
