It so easy, quitting. It really is. Just decide you are not going to go into a shop and buy fags. Sorted.

Quitting is easy. That's not the problem for me. Starting is easy too.

At least it was, I won't ever smoke again, at least that's my current mood and has been for a few weeks.

What I find when I quit is how horrible smokers smell - as a smoker, you have no idea ! That usually helps keep me stay quit for a while

I had a small falling out with this site recently. I posted a thread about Allen Carr's book and since this site is run for the Niquitin patches they were not amused. I then posted about the fact folk get addicted to the patches and gum and they deleted my thread.

Best site for this is www.ex-smokers.com Smiley A blatant punt for my site, but heh - why not. I'm not getting any money for it, just love seeing folk get free from the weed.

So he's taking advice then and not watching the packet and hoping that the miserable feeling will disappear. That's much better!

Good Luck to all of you who are giving up.

I gave up May 2004, after 4 attempts over the previous 12-15 months to do so.  I know how difficult it is, and my success was with the help of a wonderful, patient, and understanding NHS counsillor complete with really useful tips, (that's the method which worked best for me, along with,  having gone cold turkey, trying NRT tablets and patches, and eventually an inhaler for when I just wanted a drag and whiff of nicotine and I very soon dispensed with that) but i am sure you will all give it your best shot and succeed. Thumbs up to you all and thinking of you. thumbs up

And Harmony's will power when i, a confirmed smoker, am around is amazing. She would be first to admit that she could murder one sometimes, but has never, ever asked for one or smoked a cig, impresses the hell out of me.

Well done honey.
