Is there a point at which calling for all your chips when believing your behind gives you a better chance of wining than folding and trying to win uncontested pots? For example;

360,000 chips in play
5 handed, big stack about 100K average about 70,000
Blinds are 4K 8K no ante

Due to the size of the blinds in relation to stack size all play has been pre flop shoves for quite a while.

Your in the big blind with 20K back and 8k in the pot, folded round to SB who has you covered who then moves in. you have K 8 unsuited. What do you do and why?

call, all day every day.

Not even a choice really.

His push range is so big theres a strong chance your in front and if your not your likely at worst to be 6/4 against

I get it in the middle because I believe K 8 to be an above average hand when playing short handed.  I would expect that at worse I am in a race.

if you fold your fold equity has evaporated against all but the tightest players.

and even a perfect scenario double up gets you back to about 6 BBs and looking to push again.

Generally you should not be dropping below 4x the pot (48k in this case) before you look to push any unopened pot.

trying to win uncontested pots?

You think if you pass here you will be winning an uncontested pot?

That was my feeling flushy, Makes me a mandatory call for anyone. I called the shove he had ace rag as expected hit a King and he went ballistic. The reason I was in such a precarious position was he shoved from early with K4 (spades) and I called with pocket aces and he flopped a flush, I remained silent ( I had the ace of spades as well just could not find another spade, that is so infuriating). I dont want to be calling of my stake when behind but you have to figure the chances of finding a hand, getting it to hold are going to be greater than the probable 6/4 shot your facing.
