Played a tourney last nite i was on the button on a 8 handed table, dealer dealt all cards and before utg made any action i realised he dealt me 3 cards i quickly let him no and he said because there was no action yet it was a redeal then some players said my hand was dead i also thought my hand was dead but the dealer insisted it was a redeal?

Just wondering who was right? Also is there anywhere i could buy a book for problems like this a rules book or is there 1 that even exists as it seems to be different rules for different clubs!!

Dead as a dormouse, there was a high profile example of this in the WSOP a few years back where a huge pot was created before someone realised they had 3 cards and the pot was awarded tot he other player.
It was on a thread in here i believe.......

Of course not.

If no action has taken place it is a misdeal, if action had taken place hand is dead.
