I actually like Snoopy's shoes but I wouldn't wear them on that carpet - they clash horribly.

I have just asked my daughter "what colour do you think that is, Jen?" because we all know that girls are an expert on all things pink.

her reply "it's black"

"not THAT bit Jen Roll Eyes, the colour next to that"

"it's pink mum" (looking at me rather puzzled)

So I tell her those feet belong to our Blondite reporter Snoopy, and her even more puzzled reply was "is he gay or something?"

What's that old saying.... 'Out of the mouth of babes....'

As I said, that pciture is deceptive because the flash has brightened everything (my skin is much more bronzed too!). In the flesh, they look like Fuchsia, which is the colour shown below.

STOP MAKING MY BEAGLE QUESTION HIS SEXUALITY, it makes me nervous. I would just like to say that I fully support Smoopy in his bold choice of footwear, and I think you're all being very childish. Also, that pair of pants that someone posted up looks not entirely unlike a pair I wear on special occasions. Nothing wrong with them.

Oh, and Bongo, 10 English pounds to you if you can talk Smoopy into dyeing his hair pink! He won't listen to me...

Ah, he should do it, silly Snoops.

I still have some dye so should find the time to do it again soon.

ah, a discussion about colours

it is hard to really get anywhere here, because there are no strict definitions (AFAIK) of such colours as 'pink' and 'fuchsia'

in the hsv colour model, 'red' is the colour with hue: 0, saturation: 100%, and brightness: 100%

one might suggest 'pink' as being the group of colours with a reddish hue, moderate-high to high brightness, and low to moderate saturation

similarly 'magenta' has hue: 300, saturation: 100%, and brightness: 100%

one could propose that when he says 'fuchsia', he is actually referring to a group of colours with magenta-like hue, moderate to high brightness, and moderate to high saturation

it would be tricky to impose numerical definitions on such terms as 'reddish', 'magenta-like', 'moderate', or 'high'

these groups are not mutually-exclusive: it is possible that a particular shade could be described both as 'pink' and 'fuchsia'

for example, this box has hue: 330, brightness: 80%, saturation: 50% -- is it pink, fuchsia, or both?

introducing such further modifiers as 'light fuchsia' or 'blueish pink' defenestrates these already shaky frameworks

so it is possible to debate this until we are blue in the face

...for appropriate definitions of blue, of course

Smoopy's main argument against the pink hair seemed to consist of some sort of irrational fear that he would get beaten up in Birmingham. Like the pink shoes wouldn't have that effect on their own. If he ever went out, I mean.

That's WENT out, not came out.
