[   ] I made a good start to FC this season

My opponents are 489-2 at the end of the 1st day!

They declared at 500-2 this morning.

In reply, we were 30-3 very quickly, Tortoishell hit 135 and Birchall a magnificent, and a new personal best 260no. My new 17yo mediocre bat is also still in on 51no, and we're 481-4. Think I'm going to bat on, might as well rest my bowlers!!

I love it when a plan comes together!

120ao!

Hall took 4 and Foot 2, giving Foot a 5 wicket haul.

Some decent points on the board though, which is pretty important.

edit:

 Bigglesthwaite CC     Colne Dynamoes
Top Order:    superb    remarkable
Middle Order:    quality    wonderful
Lower Order:    worthless    worthless
Seam Bowling:    wonderful    exceptional
Spin Bowling:    remarkable    wonderful
Fielding:    competent    feeble

Looks like I had the edge in... fielding!

Good win for me Smiley

Obviously after 2 massive totals, the game decended into farce. My 481-4 turned into 487ao, They scored just 145, and then bowled me out for just 78. Wonder why I'm liking BT less and less. Thats on a flat pitch btw

Had the same, but a loss.
Was playing a much better team but got 200+. He was 400 odd at end of second day. Put my batters on defensive and they totally collapsed.

37.1    4   Cash to Glazier
Bouncer by Cash and Glaziers spins and tries to hook the ball for six. Not the best timed shot and that landed roughly between square and fine leg. It had enough momentum to reach the boundary for four runs though.
And that's a century for Glazier! Well played indeed Sir!

First one of the season for me Smiley

Game going OK so far, but other team has a very good batting line up and a slow pitch doesn't really suit me.

Everyone else having a good day?

43.3    4   Eyre to Disley
Eyre sends in a loose one, Disley gets a chance to free his arms and he’s sent that one screaming through cover.
And that's a century for Disley! Well played indeed Sir!

Number 2 for the season, this one in only 73 balls! cupcake

End of Over 44: 245-2, runrate=5.57
Eyre   10-0-61-0
Disley*   103 (75 balls)
Clarke   14 (9 balls)
Last Wicket: Glazier b. Cartwright 110 (FOW: 216/2)

Going really well so far!

I've landed in a tough FC league where I'm the least experienced team by a long way and any place above bottom two will be miraculous.

Pleased to hang on for a draw in first game against a 2005 vintage manager.  After following on I managed to last long enough to set him target of 57 in the final six overs and he fell short.

Quite funny to end up with a draw in a game where I only took two wickets though!   Grin

Lost as expected in OD to relegated team whose quality is way above anything in this league.  Bizarrely their full strength team only won with a couple of overs to spare despite me resting half my first team. Not sure how it was so close given the team ratings though......

                     Emerald Armada Athletico Foxy
Top Order:        quality     proficient
Middle Order:     quality     mediocre
Lower Order:     abysmal    abysmal

Interesting game Asa!!  I see the conditions were sunny for days 1 & 2 then turned to cloudy and humid on the last day though. This backs up some thoughts I've been having recently that the weather possibly seems to have more of an impact on the game than it used to?
