PokerStars $3 RB Donkey derby (2653 runners).  Down to 2 and I manage to piss away a 3:1 chip lead to finish second.  That's the 3rd time I've failed to bring the prize home.  The final hand was A2 v's K8 with an A K 8 flop.  Needless to say all my chips went in (when behind as usual).

I should be grateful as I sucked out on someone to stay in this tourney and I chopped for 1rst at the Broadway last Friday but I would have given anything to finish first.  Still mustn't grumble.  A cash is a cash.

Whenever I bust out of a tourney even if it's a good cash, I'm always disappointed that I didn't win. after an hour or two, I'm happy to have cashed.

Well played.

Its a winning thning.

When I play I play to win, not come 2nd or 3rd or whatever.

It hurts us all, but as Red says, give it an hour or two - and enjoy the $$$$'s

Are you dissapointed that you had a chip lead and lost? I mean does it make it worse? (I know the feeling btw)

If this is a occurence that you keep finishing 3/2 but not first, surely you are good player but working on the final 3 handed game might improve your skills and you can become a consistant winner.

You have to look what it is that makes you not get the prize... is it the fact that you worked your ass off and now you become more relaxed and less concentrated, less patient?  whatever it is you have to nail it and work on it.  Smiley

GL and surely nxt time you will win it...

As the others said it's a winning thing. I am sure you'll feel better about the cash after a few hours.

Also remember that 3-1 lead HU isn't all that much. after all 1 double up and your equal again. Like Tantrum says; Where are your weak points? Is it when you get shorthanded? Or just when you're HU? If it's a HU thing then it might be a good idea to focus on playing HU STT's for a while and try and improve that game. Or use the Handanalysis board on here and post some hands you are having problems with (not necesarily hands you went out with but just hands where you have some questions as to what to do with.

If you seem to struggle heads up perhaps play some $5/$10/$20 HU games on the site of your choice?

Yeah i agree, well played Sir, how much did u ship home for the trouble? couple of k i expect?

2nd paid $3058.

I guess after playing for over 9 hours I was drained and forgot the positive side.  Two decent cashes in 2 weeks is a good result and I was listed as 1st in the Broadway on the 26th (even though we chopped) so I suppose I have had a win on paper.

Thanks for your advice and encouragment.

If you didn't feel like this, some might argue you're not a real player.

Well done on the result.

better than nothing at all. Just been knocked out in 35th out of 450 runners in mtt on virgin. The worst thing was i was 2nd chip leader. Raised big preflop with AQ (I know!!!) got called, flop came A 9 9, not bad but i had the feeling he had A J. Perfect. Raised all in he called with A J and rivered a jack. Play flawless poker for 3 hours and get nothing! Thats poker

Going to keep playing online for 1 more month. If dont improve am going to pure live tourneys!
