Louis Theroux: Gambling in Vegas

KingPoker:
I loved the bits we he would be in the lift and asking anyone who came in "are you up or down?" I think only one said he was up and even the most amateurish poker player could have sensed weakness in his answer lol! That IT consultant at the end was a proper gambler he knew what he was doing. That mattress king from canada didnt even have a system when he was betting 5000 dollars a spin on rollette and his sleazy so called "friend" leting him go down 250,000! Only the ppl over the pond would have a friend who tries to bleed you dry and still love him!!

Swordpoker:
I found it interesting that the guy who lost $250K seemed to be clued up that there was more chance of losing than winning. And not having a system for the roulette also reflected that.

And the woman who has lost $4m on the fruit machines knew there was no skill to it and even seemed open to the strong possibility that she might lose everything. I found it particularly funny when, shortly after the 'losing $4m" discussion, she got really excited and said "Look! I've won a hundred dollars"

tantrum:
The saddest thing was she had a memorial service for her husband at the casino....

KingPoker:
would anyone actually have liked to stay in that suite they gave the mattress king? I fucking hate places that look like that. Just give me a nice open plan modern room like the it consultant had.... but what a f****** view of the strip. Man i have just got to get out there soon!!!!!!!!!!

I saw it and thought 'holy crap', how much does that cost a night, english butler, the works. Then you see how much the guy blows. At least $300K? And they were fighting over a $3-4K free shopping card?
And just how much do you make by being 'Canada's mattress king?'
As usual I found Theroux very entertaining, but the program made me almost feel ill. The casino staff were scary. Theroux's very good-natured but he smelt blood and went right in for the kill. 'I'm just a marketing guy'. 'Are you his friend?' 'Yes, I'm his friend'. 'Would you tell him to stop?'
The big loser of the young duo was hilarious: 'When you start winning you gotta bet higher and higher.' He really believed he was on a streak. Looks like he lost a life-changing sum. Strange, since "Blackjack is not weighted in the house's favour.'
I loved the lift scenes too 'You winning or losing?' 'Losing'. 'Winning or losing?' 'Winning' You winning or losing?' 'I itAllyaan!' lol
